We had the good fortune of connecting with Toi Epperson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Toi, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
For many years I worked in the fitness industry as a personal trainer, and while I loved my job, I knew my heart wasn’t fully in it. Transformation of the body is beautiful, but transformation of the mind can shift your whole life..

That is where my heart was.

My passion is to remind people that their voice matters, their gifts are needed and what they have inside of them can impact a generation.

Hidden isn’t humble, it’s
hurting those who need what we have.

I chose to step into that in my own life and become a Mindset and Life Coach.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
More times than not we view a Life Coach in a office with a notepad. That is not how what it looks like for me.

I have had the opportunity of coaching at coffee shops one-on-one, in a group setting in a gym, through books, newspapers, and planners. Most recently I have started an apparel line.

Whether it’s speaking with you, words you read, or clothing you wear, you have a coach.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is exciting. I would start by grabbing coffee at this beautiful coffee shop here in SC called Loveland and Head to the farmers markets and vendor set ups.

Grab lunch our favorite lunch – probably Mexican.. If you’re ever in Columbia, Little Mexico – thank me later. I am a foodie so a chain restaurant are not my vibe.

We would spend the early afternoon somewhere in nature. I love a beautiful lake and walking trail.

We would probably hang out around the house afternoon into night and later grab Thai. You can never go wrong with Thai food.

When it comes to time with my friends, I want to intentional with my time, so I’d prefer not to go to places where it hinders us from having meaningful conversation and enjoying our time.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to thank my client Erika Lamar- Who recommended me for this.

You are the Girl for the Job – Jess Connolly (book) is what poured gasoline on the fire within me. After reading the book, I immediately applied for the Go and Tell Coaching program. My life has never been the same.
