Meet Todd Graham: Managing Partner at Mike Moon Studio

We had the good fortune of connecting with Todd Graham and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Todd, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Well, it’s hard for me to pinpoint a specific thing or event that got me to where I am today. It’s been a culmination of things I’ve experienced and people I’ve met along the way. I suppose if I were putting together a recipe for success, I would tell people to embrace every opportunity you are given early in your career, no matter how big or how small – There is always something to learn. Be kind, not only to others, but to yourself. Be honest. Surround yourself with like minded people. Never forget where you came from and the people that helped you along the way. I’m not the smartest man in the world, but I know I wouldn’t be where I am or who I am without a handful of incredible people that have inspired, lifted me up, and pushed me forward. When it comes to the success of our brand, I think part of it is offering a great product, but also approaching business in a human way. Genuinely caring about what you do, the clients you serve, and the team you work with day in and day out. Our company isn’t perfect, no company is, but I think we have the reputation we do because we treat all of our clients like family and we go out of our way to make sure their experience with us is one they will cherish for a lifetime.
Please tell us more about your career. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Well, now that most of us have seemingly survived 2020, I’m super optimistic and excited about what 2021 will bring. We learned a lot about ourselves and the company this past year and I’m looking forward to putting a lot of new things into place for our clients and team. This past year, as many of you know, brought on many challenges. Due to covid-19 and things shutting down for months at a time, many of our couples had to move or cancel their weddings. We were fortunate enough to work with our awesome clients and instead of cancelling many weddings, we were able to reschedule most of them to this year. We are ecstatic to be celebrating with them in the coming months! I think that’s one of many reasons our company has been so successful over the years. We look at things from a human perspective. It wasn’t our couples fault that everything shut down from an unforeseen virus that swept the country, so we moved dates for our couples and worked with other vendors to make sure the transition went as smoothly as possible. While 2020 was a rough year, we have many things to be grateful for. Due to the freedom we had this past year, we were able to explore building upon our business even sooner than we had initially planned. One of the biggest things our wedding clients have requested over the years is offering newborn and family sessions. So, we did just that. This past year we partnered with Debra Nicole, an award winning newborn photographer here in Atlanta, and we are super excited to announce the launch of Debra Nicole Children’s Photography.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Atlanta is such an awesome place to visit. I’m a bit of a foodie, so I tend to take people on a tour of my favorite restaurants in the area. When people come into town, I usually always take them to Rice in Cumming, GA. Ask for Andy or Alex and order the Saku-Saku. Fantastic service and you can’t go wrong with the Saku-Saku shrimp and rice. I also love Pampas Steakhouse in Johns Creek. I highly recommend The Brick with Lobster Mac and cheese. You’ll thank me later. And if you’re looking for a solid burger, you can’t go wrong with The Vortex and Grindhouse Killer Burgers in Atlanta. Other than food, you can never go wrong with heading down to the Battery and grabbing some solid food and doing some shopping or walking over and seeing the Braves play. We have tons of parks to check out as well, but if I’m showing something unique to the area, I really enjoy Arabia Mountain and Stone Mountain Park.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Some of the most impactful people in my life have been my family, my wife, and our two beautiful children. I most definitely want to thank my business partner, Joel Brantley, for being a mentor and friend, but also believing in my ability to lead Mike Moon Studio into the future. I would also like to thank Debra Nicole for expanding upon this incredible journey by partnering with Joel and Myself with Debra Nicole Children’s Photography. Lastly, I want to thank everyone else on my long list of people who helped me along the way. I am truly grateful for you all.
