We had the good fortune of connecting with TINA REDMOND aka TRACC and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi TINA REDMOND, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m Tina Redmond formally known as DJ Chic Chick now Internationally known as TRACC THE DJ or TRACC for short. I was born in Los Angeles, but raised in Inglewood, California, a city where dreams take flight quite literally, thanks to its proximity to the LAX International Airport. Growing up under the roar of jet engines, I often found myself daydreaming about the far-off places these planes were going to and coming from, sparking a lifelong passion for world travel. Which in turn today, I make it a point to travel as much as my schedule allows me to.

Inglewood, famously called the City of Champions, played a pivotal role in shaping my outlook for my career goals. With iconic sporting and event venues like the Great Western Forum, in my neighborhood which is now known as the Kia Forum, once being home to the Los Angeles Lakers and that being the reasons why Inglewood is known as the City of Champions, because The Forum is where legends such as Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar graced the court and won championship games followed by huge celebrations that included parades and parking lot photo opportunities. A myriad of legendary concerts have appeared on stage there as well with plenty of memories of myself and friends at that time dressing up as crew members to try to sneak in as if a few teens in high school looked old enough to work there. I think about so many hilarious childhood stories that shaped my music and comedy career. I was immersed in a vibrant cultural hub from an early age. This exposure to a constant influx of diverse visitors and events ingrained in me a deep appreciation for cultural variety and entertainment.

Los Angeles has a tapestry of neighborhoods and cultures that further broadened my horizons. I reveled in the city’s eclectic mix of lifestyles, cuisines, and entertainment, learning to embrace and celebrate differences. These nurturing and accepting environments cultivated in me a profound curiosity and respect for global cultures. Even areas like Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and Venice Beach that I would visit on a regular basis peaked my curiosity on so many levels.

This inclusive mindset inspired me to create my platform, TRACC which stands for, Tina Redmond Always Connecting Culture. Through TRACC, I share my unique experiences and perspectives, aiming to connect audiences with the rich, diverse world around them. I understand that my brand might not resonate with everyone, but I passionately pursue an audience that values and learns from the cultural insights that
I provide.

My story is one of curiosity, acceptance, and an unwavering commitment to connecting cultures. Through my creative endeavors, I continue to bridge gaps and foster understanding, one story at a time, through music, lifestyle and entertainment. Stay tuned the best is yet to come.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am TRACC, my brand, the heart and soul which encompasses TRACC RADIO.TV STUDIOS, a leading force in interactive multimedia production located in a music suite in the heart of Hollywood, CA. This creative hub excels in bespoke radio streaming services, beat matching sessions for unforgettable tourist entertainment, comprehensive media services, and professional DJ bookings that I’m in awe of getting back to fulltime.

TRACC as a brand offers a suite of dynamic apps: TRACC RADIO.TV for Music, the upcoming TRACC RADIO.TV for Comedy, and the upcoming TRACC THE PODCAST for engaging storytelling and conversations. I started TRACC based off of my DJ career. I was in Atlanta at the time working at a few different radio stations, then I started getting noticed on social media which in turn got me invitations to have my own show on International stations. I accepted a few offers at a few UK stations and then during the pandemic I decided to start my own station. That’s when TRACC was born. Things started moving extremely fast for me and the more I started to add people to my brand, it became too much work to get them to follow through with my vision. When I moved back home to LA, I took a break from the limelight to work on the business side of my brand. Now as I prepare for my relaunch you will see that, TRACC focusses on me as a brand. I’m a Sagaftra member so when it comes to the arts I am serious about my work. I’m creating my brand to work as in promoting my career first hand and providing opportunities for those that are just as dedicated and serious about their careers to partner with my platforms as well. On the TRACC RADIO.TV for Music App tuning in will give you access to my highly sought after mixes with a special blend of various genres that I strategically tell stories through. On TRACC RADIO. TV for Comedy App the content will be filled with some of your favorite comedians cutting up with me as we showcase improv comedy skills and story telling in short form. On the TRACC THE PODCAST App is a docuseries of podcasts where I sit down with some of your favorite celebrities and community leaders and share stories about our lives. The kind of stories that will give the audience an idea of our foundation, laughing about the trials and tribulations throughout our careers that we got through, while celebrating where we are in life today. My mission is to connect cultures globally through entertainment and community awareness. Providing my audience with an example of what it’s like to get through difficult times and to hopefully inspire those that are struggling with simular issues to keep pushing forward. This is a commitment that distinguishes my brand from the rest.

At the core of TRACC’s ethos is a dedication to innovation and cultural fusion. As I champion this mission, leveraging my skills as a media and mixed music producer, content developer and biographer I create art that resonates worldwide. My work isn’t just a job—it’s a passion, and I take immense pride in sharing it with those who appreciate and enjoy it as much as I do. My accomplishments became reality when I recently received my plaque from The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. It forced me to step back and look at how far I have come and the dedication that I have put in behind the scene of building my brand.

Building TRACC hasn’t been easy, and the journey is far from over. I started in Atlanta, GA, but moving back to LA exposed me to advanced technology and a unique entertainment landscape. Despite the rapid pace of change, I’ve adapted, focusing on the business side of show business, understanding that structure and foundation are crucial for stability. Those that understand business can understand my frame of mind. There comes a time when you have to make sacrafices for what you want. Just believe in your vision, don’t discuss your vision with people that don’t have their own visions, don’t allow anyone to rush you and don’t care about what others think about you.

Through my experiences, I’ve learned valuable business lessons, including the importance of cautious collaboration. Fame and money aren’t my primary goals; loyalty and integrity are. I make sacrifices to build my brand the right way, bringing a wealth of experience and a commitment to success to the table. With those ingredients everything thing else successfully falls in place.

In carving out my niche, I don’t compete—I create.
TRACC is a reflection of my journey and the stories of those I’ve encountered. Stay tuned for more exciting developments as I continue to connect cultures through the power of multimedia and bridging the gap between LA and ATL entertainment while building a global platform to provide education through entertainment. Relaunch TBA coming in Fall 2024 in LA..

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When visiting any city, it’s essential to check out the must-see tourist locations. In Atlanta, I highly recommend starting with the Midtown area. Here, you’ll experience the city’s vibrant nightlife with its array of bars, clubs, and popular tourist hotspots.

Next, head to Buckhead for an upscale scene, complete with chic boutiques, high-end restaurants, and luxurious hotels. It’s the perfect place to indulge in a bit of glamour and sophistication.

One of my favorite areas in Atlanta is the Northside, where I once lived. Specifically, Roswell, located across from the scenic Chattahoochee River. This charming area offers fantastic opportunities for outdoor activities like bike riding and canoeing. Downtown Roswell, with its quaint, old-school vibe, is a delightful place to explore.

Another gem is Alpharetta, which offers an upscale yet relaxed atmosphere. It’s just outside the city, providing a more laid-back pace while still delivering a taste of local luxury.

Whether you’re seeking the hustle and bustle of city life or a peaceful retreat with a touch of elegance, Atlanta has something to offer every visitor.

Here is a bonus. When traveling to LA, again be sure to visit the tourist areas such as Hollywood, Beverly Hills and the beach areas, but Inglewood is also becoming a tourist zone with additional stadiums like Sofi home to the Rams, The Youtube Theater, Kia and The Clippers are also launching their stadium in August. Shopping and restaurant options along Century Blvd and downtown Inglewood on Market Street is gaining attention with new businesses launching along the strip as well as other areas like Marina Del Rey for seafood options on restaurant row and great views of boats and yachts along pier. LA has many options of being entertained it just depends on what kind of lifestyle interests you. You will soon be able to see a hotlist of LA’s must go to spots on my website and apps. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
With the protection of God over me, within me to sustain me, and behind me to push and encourage me, I have reached where I am today. I’ve endured a lot of pain from family and people who disguised themselves as friends, but through prayer, God helped me through it all. I firmly believe that people are placed in our lives for specific reasons, and it’s crucial to understand why our paths cross with theirs.

One such person in my life is my Aunt Mamie. She has always been more than an aunt to me, she’s like a sister. During the hardest times, she has been there to console me, pray for me and help piece together what felt broken. Aunt Mamie is my best friend and the one person I can always depend on, even when the world seems to be against me.

This dedication is a testament to the strength and support that faith and loved ones bring into our lives. Through every trial and triumph, I am grateful for the divine guidance and the unwavering presence of those who truly care. For that I thank God for my blessings.
