We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Knight and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Years ago, a friend and I talked about being able to live and not “just exist”.
Founding Mini Minds Academy (MMA) has definitely made existing more purposeful.

At MMA we thrive on helping families, creating community ties and fellowship. As a small business owner, I quickly realized that relationships are more important than sales; families need a sense of belonging and support.

To create those strong bonds, we show the parents of our minis they are
more than clients, they are family. We provide food and supplies to new
and expecting moms, in addition to offering emotional support for mommy and mini through individual sessions, monthly check-ins, and online parent courses. We also network within our MMA circle of parents to support other local and black owned businesses. We organize community-based outings for our minis to play and gather safely. And we always provide FREE tools through our text message community.

I’d like to think that in some small way we are contributing to building black wealth and I often wonder if I’m doing enough! I know that a real impact takes years. And walking into year 4, I’m hopeful that every time I change one family’s world, I’m setting a strong foundation to improve generations to come! I’m creating enrichment opportunities for brown babies like mine, and it feels amazing!

We are 98% referral and have impacted 165 families. I’m excited to break generational curses and keep our babies above average!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Mini Minds Academy is a learning and developing company that produces enrichment for children.

We are different from others because we focus on more than Pre-K readiness and academics. It is a holistic experience for parents and their children.

We cater to a unique age group starting as early as 6months, up to 8 years of age; and within that age group, we specialize in the five and under category. We also offer mobile services for our clients.

Of course, trailblazing is not an easy task, but we are always open to learning, growing, and expanding. So, we welcome challenges. In the last three years I’ve learned to expect the unexpected and only focus on the things we can control, being solution based. The world should know; we are coming to a neighborhood near you, and we are looking forward to creating an early love for learning with your mini.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love to eat, so if a friend were visiting for a week-long trip, I’d have to pencil a few of these places in for lunch/ dinner.
Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar
Spice House (Lithonia)
Hippin Hops Brewery
Blue Seafood Lounge

For fun I’d visit a local escape room or attend an immersive show or the
High Museum.

To keep the kids busy, we would visit Southern Belle farm and a trampoline park.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout is to my son Dallas and my MMA family! The parents that trusted me with their most prized possession! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your village! And Mr. Dallas thank you for sharing mommy.
