We had the good fortune of connecting with Tierra Lee and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tierra, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I decided to start my own beauty business because I was surrounded by people lacking in self confidence. I decided to use my gift to create a change by showing people the better versions of themselves. My goal is to get my business in a position where I can build a program within my business that offers services to women and young ladies for free to help build their personal and professional confidence. As women we often judge ourselves so harshly, and feel so sure that the rest of the world views us the same, and I’m just trying to do my part to change that narrative. We are all deserving of love but we must all learn to love ourselves first.
This is why I have to succeed, because I am my community.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the owner/operator of Drunken Lipstick beauty. I am a licensed esthetician and Makeup Artist. I offer services that helps to enhance the self esteem of my clients, and build more self confidence.
I started this business not knowing how to do anything besides what I was talented at, and was actually nervous to actually start. I was not sure how the public would take me so I moved very slow and didn’t offer services unless I was asked. I started a journey to help build other people and hadn’t built it in myself.
It took some time for me to stand in my strengths and my skills, and once I did, I was able to better show my clients how to stand in theirs. I may be just a skincare professional, but I’m my client’s biggest supporter.
I had to fall in love with myself in order for my business of making others fall in love with themselves to be successful.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Wow so I don’t go out much but when I do, I try to find sushi. Lol it’s my favorite.
Our itinerary would probably look like this….
Brunch- 10th n Piedmont
River tubing- Chattahoochee River Tubing
Dinner- Sushi Nami
Drinks- The W
Other excursions would include…..
Spinart- Spin art Atlanta
Hatchet throwing- Bury the hatchet
Any festival
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to give thanks to my wife. She pushed me to be the best version of myself even when I couldn’t see it. She helped me overcome many hurdles (some self inflicted) to get me where I am today. She is my rock and my support system, and she helped me realize my potential and encouraged me to develop my strengths. She is why I have the courage to try everyday because she won’t let me back down from fear.
