We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiarra Shaw and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiarra, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Believing in myself has never been the simplest endeavor, yet I was blessed with an extraordinary mother whose influence continues to envelop me, even in her absence. Long before I could fully comprehend it, she instilled within me an enduring conviction in my own potential. She granted me the freedom to immerse myself in myriad pursuits—band, chorus, drama, basketball, cheerleading, volleyball, track, and beyond. Her unwavering affirmation that I could accomplish anything I resolved to pursue became the cornerstone of my confidence. She imbued me with boundless love, steadfast support, insatiable curiosity, and unyielding tenacity. As a result, it became instinctive for me to question convention, transcend limitations, and refuse confinement within the narrow parameters of expectation.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am, without question, a multifaceted confluence of talents. Whether it is the artisanal crafting of candles and wreaths, guiding clients through the intricate process of buying and selling homes, curating cinematic and television set designs, or serving as a creative director, I don an array of roles while continuously seeking new challenges that propel me beyond perceived boundaries. The very notion of limitation is foreign to me; instead, I embrace opportunity in its myriad forms, which renders me both versatile and adaptive—capable of navigating any environment and commanding presence in any room. Through experience, I discovered that authenticity eclipses the need for contrived distinction. There exists only one you, and by embodying that truth unapologetically, you attract more—more respect, more connection, more opportunity. It took time to internalize that people are drawn not to what you possess or produce, but to the essence of your authenticity.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A few of my favorite spots are The Battery, Ponce City Market, Avalon, and Atlantic Station. I like each of these places because they offer a variety of restaurants, entertainment, and shopping. If they are looking for exercise, I would take them on the belt line or Stone Mountain Park. If they want to get into the arts, we can go to the High Art Museum, the Civil Rights Museum, the Coca-Cola museum, the Aquarium, and Centennial Park

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wish to dedicate this to my mother, whom I heartbreakingly lost this past January to ovarian cancer. She was my foundation, my muse, my guiding light—my everything. In truth, I still grapple with how to move forward in her absence. She was the one I turned to for counsel, comfort, and unwavering support, always present in every way imaginable. Simply through her existence, she imparted invaluable lessons. She embodied poise, grace, and elegance—qualities I continue striving to emulate, though I often feel I fall short. Even in her most fragile moments, she remained my greatest source of strength. She inspired me ceaselessly to strive toward becoming my best self. The enormity of her absence feels immeasurable, yet the worth, pride, and resilience she instilled in me remain indelible. Though I lament that she cannot be physically present in this chapter of my journey, I am consoled by the belief that she watches over me. Above all, I hope I am living in a way that makes her profoundly proud.
