Meet Tia Harris | Entreprenuer and IT Professional

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tia Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tia, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
My work life balance has been challenging at times. Being a fiancé, mom, entrepreneur, full time employee, and soon to be full time student can be taxing; mentally more than anything, but my goals don’t care how taxing it is. So when you understand that you have goals, short term and long, that you want to achieve you come to the understanding that some sacrifices have to be made. Initially that may be spending less time with your loved ones or time with yourself. That doesn’t mean dedicate all of your time to your dreams because you can definitely make time for everything that you deem important.
So I look at it like this, you have 24 hours in a day and 8 hours you may spend sleeping so the other 16 is more than enough time for you to do whatever it is that you need to do. Just remember that every second counts and plan accordingly.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The name of my business is The Lash Pro Beauty Bar. This beauty bar provides a luxury level of lash extensions for your everyday woman through superior customer service.
One of the main things that sets me apart from others is my customer service. I truly pride myself in the way that I cater to my clients. In comparison to what I’ve seen around me, I care about my clients health as much as I care about their looks and to be honest that’s not easy to find within Atlanta, unfortunately. Many ladies enter the industry for the money and provide whatever is requested no matter how detrimental it could be to the client.
Where I am today business-wise has taken a great deal of work. A successful business doesn’t come easy for anyone, but through my support system and staying consistent I believe that’s why my business continues to thrive today.
As far as lessons learned go, I’ve learned to stay consistent. No matter what is going on, no matter how things seem, no matter if you think people see you or not, stay consistent. People are watching you and the second you stop they no longer have anything to watch, so keep going.
The one thing I want people to know about me is that this is something that I’ve built from scratch. I haven’t taken any handouts and literally started out of my moms home. Along my journey I’ve made mistakes and will probably make more, but what I’ve created is here to stay and will only continue to grow and expand. It literally can only get better from here and I wholeheartedly believe that.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is a funny question to ask me because to know me you must know that I am a homebody! But, if I was to plan anything out I would knock out the good old faithful spots to visit like Monday would be the GA Aquarium, Tuesday would be Coca Cola World, then we’d go somewhere new like Wednesday night at the Illuminarium for the adult night Thursday we could probably visit this black owned stable off Covington Hwy in Decatur, and Friday we’d hit Buckhead Bars for some fun!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The continued success of my business and career has really been due to the support of my family and close friends. From being my clients, my shoulders to lean on, my confident boosters, and more, these people have been everything to me. It goes without saying that God is the number one reason for my success, but he provided them to me so it’s only right that I shed light on the blessings he has provided.
