We had the good fortune of connecting with Tia Crosby and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my business was born from a personal need for healing and creative expression during a time of deep uncertainty. As the world slowed during the pandemic, I turned to art as a way to reconnect with my past self and celebrate the beauty of Black identity, resilience, and rest. What began as a personal outlet quickly became a calling—I realized that my creations resonated with others who saw themselves reflected in the work. I wanted to build something intentional, soulful, and community-centered. Organically Crafted grew from that space of authenticity—founded on purpose, not just profit.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

My art is a love letter to Black womanhood, nature, resilience, and identity—each piece is an invitation to slow down, feel deeply, and see beauty in the world and beyond. What sets my practice apart is the duality I embody: by day, I work as an attorney advocating for justice, and in contrast, my art is bold, fluid, and grounded in emotional and spiritual healing. These two worlds—law and creativity—may seem opposite, but both are rooted in the power of storytelling and truth.

I began creating during the pandemic as a way to escape the weight of burnout and responsibility. What started as a personal refuge quickly grew into a business, a brand, and a community. It wasn’t easy balancing a demanding career, stress, self-doubt, and the vulnerability of putting my work into the world. But I stayed rooted in purpose, trusted the process, and leaned on the support of those who believed in me.

I’ve learned that growth requires both discipline and softness—and that being self-taught is a strength, not a limitation. I want the world to know that Organically Crafted isn’t just about art—it’s about creating space for Black joy, healing, and visibility. My brand honors lived experience, emotional truth, and the beauty of becoming—on our own terms.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to Atlanta, we’d start in my favorite part of the city—the Historic West End and Castleberry Hill, just steps from the heart of the AUC. We’d grab a nostalgic, soul-filled bite at Paschal’s, later in the day stop by Tassili’s Raw Reality for one of their iconic spicy kale wraps and a deep convo while strolling their courtyard. I’d take them to browse local Black-owned galleries, like Zucot, and pop-ups nearby—there’s always something creatively alive on this side of town.

We’d explore the BeltLine, especially on the Southside trail, where the murals and street art feel like an open-air gallery. It’s undeniably beautiful and energizing, but I’d also be honest about how it reflects Atlanta’s growing pains—how rapid gentrification threatens to erase the very communities that gave this city its soul.

Throughout the week, we’d bounce between cultural gems like Auburn Avenue, Little Five Points, and cozy bookstores like For Keeps. A stop at “Your vitamin lady” is a must for a great juice and kickstart to a health journey. We’d close the trip with a slow drive from Smyrna to the city on Marietta Blvd to take a moment to admire the city’s skyline, giving thanks for a week rooted in culture, connection, and community love—the real Atlanta.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate this shoutout to my late mother, who was my first and forever believer. Her unwavering support of my creativity and her beautiful embodiment of Black womanhood continue to guide everything I create. She showed me the power of grace, strength, and imagination. I also want to recognize two incredible women who’ve held space for me on this journey—Evonna of The Motherhood Healer, who saw the vision behind my work and invited me into spaces where healing and artistry collide, and Maria of Spiritual Homegirl, who has always encouraged me to pursue both my creative and professional passions—even when they were just dreams. Their belief in me has been a light every step of the way. I’m also deeply grateful to Articulate ATL, now Artful ATL, for giving me the opportunity to publicly present my work and connect with my creative community in an inspiring, affirming space.
