We had the good fortune of connecting with The Author Queen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi The Author, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Honestly? It wasn’t some grand plan I had all mapped out. I’ve been writing since I was 2 years old—literally grew up with books and stories in my blood. But what really pushed me to start a publishing company is seeing how many people had powerful stories inside them that the world needed to hear, and they just didn’t know how to get them out.
I started The Author Queen because I kept meeting people—executives, celebrities, everyday folks with extraordinary experiences—who would say “I want to write a book someday.” And I’d think, “Chile, someday isn’t a day of the week.” These stories were dying with people, and that broke my heart.

My thought process? Simple: I had the skills, I had the passion, and I saw the need. I combined my love for writing with a real desire to help people, and I realized I could build something that empowers people to leave their legacy.
I wanted to prove that your story matters, that you don’t have to die with it inside, and that with the right support, anyone can become a published author. After helping 100+ clients get published and watching multiple hit bestseller lists, I know we’re doing exactly what we’re supposed to be doing.

It’s been five years of learning, growing, and sometimes getting knocked down. But every time a client holds their finished book for the first time? That’s why I do this.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I run a ghostwriting and publishing company under Build Your Own Book LLC, and we specialize in helping people get their stories out of their heads and into the hands of readers. I’ve written over 75 books and helped multiple clients hit bestseller status—working with everyone from celebrities to executives to everyday people with extraordinary stories.

What sets us apart? It’s simple—I actually care about your story. Every project gets my personal attention because I believe your story deserves to be told right. Each book is unique, each voice matters, and I make sure that comes through in the final product. I’m not just here to write words on a page. I’m here to make sure your message lands, your voice shines through, and your book actually gets finished.

Easy? Not even close. Those first few years were rough. I had clients who taught me hard lessons about boundaries, pricing, and the kind of work I was willing to put my name on. I’ve dealt with people who didn’t value the process, projects that drained me, and moments where I questioned if I could really do this. But every setback taught me something. I learned to charge what I’m worth. I learned to say no to projects that weren’t the right fit. I learned that quality always beats quantity.

What I’m most proud of? Watching clients hold their finished books for the first time. Seeing them on bestseller lists. Getting messages from readers whose lives were changed by a book we created together. That never gets old.
I recently took a year off social media to reset and recharge, and now I’m relaunching stronger than ever. I also started a sister company called Rewrite Your Credit because I believe in empowering people holistically—fix your credit, write your book, build your legacy.

Here’s what I want the world to know: Your story matters. You don’t have to die with it inside. And if you’re serious about becoming a published author, I’m serious about helping you get there. Build Your Own Book isn’t just a business—it’s a movement to make sure powerful stories don’t stay silent.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to Atlanta for a week, I’d make sure they got the real vibe—not just the touristy stuff, but the spots where you actually feel the city.

First, we’re hitting up some solid coffee shops because that’s where the magic happens. We’d spend time at The Bakery Cowork—it’s the perfect spot to work, write quietly, and actually get things done without distractions. There’s something about that creative energy that just hits different.

We’d definitely check out some local spots for good food. Atlanta has no shortage of incredible places to eat, and I’d make sure we hit a mix of everything—soul food, brunch spots, late-night eats. The food scene here is unmatched.
If Rod Wave is in town? We’re going to that concert, no question. There’s nothing like experiencing live music, especially an artist who really connects with the crowd.

Beyond that, we’d explore some of the creative spaces and cultural spots around the city. Atlanta has such a rich history and an incredible arts scene—there’s always something happening, whether it’s galleries, live performances, or just soaking up the energy of different neighborhoods.

Honestly, the best part of the week would be the downtime too—good conversations over coffee, late-night talks about dreams and goals, and just being present. Atlanta gives you the space to hustle hard and rest well, and I’d want my best friend to experience both sides of that.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Where do I even start? First and foremost, I have to give all glory to God. My faith journey completely transformed my life and my business. Without that foundation, none of this would exist.

I also have to shout out every single one of my clients who trusted me with their stories. These authors took a leap of faith, and watching them become bestsellers and published authors? That fuels me. They push me to be better, to deliver excellence, and to never settle.

And honestly, I can’t leave out the writing community itself. Other authors, ghostwriters, publishers—the people who understand this grind and celebrate the wins with you. There’s something special about being surrounded by people who get it.

But if I’m being real, I also have to credit the hard lessons. The early clients who taught me what NOT to do, the business mistakes that made me sharper, the times I got knocked down and had to get back up stronger. Those struggles deserve recognition too, because they shaped who I am as a business owner today.

This journey has been a team effort in ways I never expected, and I’m grateful for every person and every lesson that got me here.
