We had the good fortune of connecting with Tesha Sherie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tesha, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
In 2015, I started a natural hair journey in the form of locs for spiritual reasons. I wanted to be closer to myself, my roots and what I felt was the best parts of me. On my search for pure and natural haircare, I found nothing! Every hair supply store had hair products filled with toxic, unhealthy ingredients that stagnant the follicles and damaged the scalp and hair more than healed. I wondered who else noticed this and how was I going to provide my community with quality hair and skincare. By early 2017, I began studying herbs, hair growth oils and practicing on my locs. At the beginning of 2018, I began sharing my gifts of haircare essentials with the world and also becoming a Certified Herbalist Specializing in Scalp and Hair Revival.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
It’s taken alot of long nights of wondering if breaking generational curses and healing the community is really my calling.
One of the generational curses is being a business owner, working for myself and not letting anyone/anything stop me.
It’s 2023, but it all started back in 2012 watching B.E.TS sister channel Centric TV. I knew I wanted to create something iconic for us by us. It started out as a fashion blog that took me to NYC and writing for Vibe Vixen and Sister2Sister magazine, that later transitioned as I was transitioning spiritually into an international natural haircare brand.
Im honestly so happy to be creating something I love so it doesn’t feel like work. I love seeing my customers achieve healthy long natural hair with the perfect ingredients to stimulate the follicles and repair damaged hair. I still work my 9 – 5 so real dedication is coming home and still being happy to create amazing haircare essentials for the community
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
