We had the good fortune of connecting with Terry Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Terry, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was to build something to be proud off. So by starting this food truck and it’s concept it would allow me stand out amongst an already pervade industry.

What should our readers know about your business?
We all know starting a business isn’t an easy and I learned the hard way, which I like! I started my business back in 2020 where I already been working as a sous chef at True Food Kitchen. Over worked and unable to move into a higher position, I decided to do on my own. I purchased a old mail truck online and started to build it out myself, once my truck was complete in 2021 I then started on my very own prep kitchen which wasn’t an easy process. It took me a year to renovate my entire kitchen on my own (laying tile, installing kitchen sink, water heater, painting etc) all while caring for a 1 year old and 6 year old. During my build out process I took a break to be on Food Network competition show called Fire Masters where I competed for $10,000. The concepts of my food truck is a modern take on classic sandwiches. I take what would be a whole meal and convert them into a sandwiches. What I want to world to know is that It’s Go Thyme is the next big food truck in Atlanta!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend visiting the city I would take them visit the restaurants and bars along the beltline, I don’t really get out as much as I use to since starting my business

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The one person who stood by my side is my wife Shannel. The owner of Waterfall haircuts by Shannel. Threw this whole process of me building up this food truck business, she was able to take care of home, help with the kids and also help me caterings along with operating her own business!
