Meet Terri Ann Heiman | Spiritual Counselor/Mentor, Reiki Master and Energy Medicine Teacher

We had the good fortune of connecting with Terri Ann Heiman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Terri Ann, how does your business help the community?
My work in the Healing Arts as an Energy Medicine Practitioner/Teacher/Mentor helps to broaden the capacity for wholeness in health and wellness. It opens up the way in which we view healing on all levels. Conventional medicine only addresses a small percent of what it takes for the body, mind and Spirit to heal. I am passionate about empowering others to take responsibility for their own health from the inside out. As president of the Reiki Association of the Southeast, my mission is to connect communities with the education and understanding of the many benefits that Reiki as an Energy Medicine modality offers as well as to help support the professional Reiki practitioner.

What should our readers know about your business?
I work in the Healing Arts as a Spiritual Counselor/Mentor, Intuitive Coach and Energy Medicine Practitioner. I offer Spiritual Upgrades and Energy Healings for modern day women with the mystical teachings of Spirituality. I teach my clients how to create the foundation for a spiritual practice with the RITES: Reiki, Intuition, Tarot, EFT and Stones and crystals to connect to their inner guidance, and build confidence to trust that inner guidance. My work speaks to the spiritual but not necessarily the religious population, one of the fastest growing populations.
From the need of education around Spiritual Development, I host the Empowered Spirit Show podcast. I’ve written a book, Confessions of a Shower Tapper: The Ultimate Goal to Living your Life with EFT. Although this book is my story on how I regained my strength to live my purpose, it is also a universal story offering 21 different issues we all go through in following our Soul Purpose. Most recently, I have produced the Empowered Spirit Tarot deck and Studybook in an attempt to demystify the use of Tarot and bring it forward as a modern day tool for self inquiry.
My purpose is to help others create a daily Spiritual practice for empowerment. As I see it, energy matters for physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health. Together, we look at the imprints of your life and what keeps you stuck. Working in the Akashic Records, we will uncover the wisdom of your Soul to find the confidence to make new Spiritual Contracts for your life.
I have learned that most people don’t make change until they find themselves in a crisis. My goal is to help people see that the health of the Spirit is just as important as physical health, mental health and emotional health. We all have the capacity to learn these tools and techniques for our own empowerment. Many people are afraid of their own power but it is through learning about their own light that this darkness and fear goes away. In a world full of darkness, this work is so needed right now.
Many people ask me why I teach the techniques of Energy Medicine like Reiki, rather than just offer treatments and my answer is that I am passionate about empowering others to take responsibility for their path, connecting to their Spirit which results in greater health and happiness. I am honored to pass on these techniques that have been passed down to me from my teachers. I recognize the value in my own life to continually work with my Spirit and allow for growth on all levels.
My path hasn’t always been easy, dark nights of the soul, transitions in life, but each time my Spirit has guided me through to standing stronger and stronger and being empowered to take responsibility for how I show up each day. My goal is to help you to do the same.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
It’s a Saturday morning… let’s start at Pepper Place, the best farmer’s market around. Grab a pasty from Bandit Patisserie, get some fresh vegetables from Lovelight Farms farms, pick up some herbal remedies from Walden Farms and of course some flowers from Stone Hollow Farmstead and Hepzibah Farms. From there we’ll head over to Magic City Art & Massage for an amazing massage. Then head to Homewood and get a new hairdo with Forecast Salon. Then we head over to Ritual + Shelter where all the cool people hang out and have our Tarot cards read as well as purchase some enchanting crystals and inspiring books and maybe even a piece of jewelry or two. Then we will head over to Railroad Park, a beautiful urban park in Birmingham for some exercise and a walk or catch a yoga class at The Yoga Circle.

Lunch and dinner… well there are so many places to choose. Try Avondale or Lakeview and then my favorite … a bit of Sushi at Bamboo on 2nd.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have two shoutouts… My Energy Medicine Teacher, Cyndi Dale whose research, books and teachings have opened up a world of knowledge and understanding about the 4 pathways and how to bridge the work of Energy Medicine into our everyday life. My second shoutout is to the board members of the Reiki Association of the Southeast. Without them my mission would feel single handed instead of all the support, knowledge and willingness of each person to create this mission to develop a Professional Reiki Practitioner Community throughout the Southeast that supports the practitioner as will as educate and bring awareness to the many communities in the southeast of the benefits of Reiki on a mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual level.
