We had the good fortune of connecting with Tereion Crawford and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tereion, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I am an only child. My Mom is one of 11 kids. Being from a big family….we always had home cooked meals. As a little girl…I stayed in the kitchen stirring pots and helping my grandmother. Fast forward to present day….I love food and being creative through it. My main reason for starting my business….is that my oldest daughter followed on my footsteps for my love of food. She’s a graduate of Johnson and Wales….Culinary Degree….Chef Crawford. I am building the foundation for her to come in and take over the family business.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m small….but mighty! I’m hungry to succeed as a small business owner. I’m a person that thrives off of morals…character…..intergity.,…professionalism…..and just doing right by people. It’s very challenging being a business owner….especially a small business owner. Every aspect of the business…requires all of you. You’re the liason…..coordinator……financer……manager…..just all around have to fill any and all positions…until your revenue allows for expansion. I continue to thrive…because of the determination I have to succeed for my family. Crawford Catered Affairs is a family based catering service that provides a professional experience with a genuine down home feeling of family.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a big shout out to my husband Mr. Travis Crawford. He is my #1 supporter. Every dollar and cent that has went into my business have come directly from our own pockets. He is my righthand man in the excursion of each catering. I can’t do it without the amazing team of ladies and gentlemens…whom shows up to serve the clients and their guest. I have some great event planners and customers, who believes in my passion and love for food…that continues to promote my business. Special shout to Alisha Miles for thinking of my business to be shouted out!!!
