Meet Tequia Lester | The Party Guru | The Hibachi Queen

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tequia Lester and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tequia, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
You will know when to keep going if you have a itch that just won’t go away. There will be times when you get weak and are overwhelmed and even feel like throwing in the towel. There will be that burning desire deep down on the inside of you that will not go away. Your gift will make room for you even if you don’t see the how. Your spirit will not allow you to throw in the towel and quit even on the days you feel like giving up. If it’s truly meant for you..whatever that “it” is…you will find a way to regroup, refocus and dust yourself off. You will keep coming back and figuring things out because it’s something on the inside of you that you can’t explain. If you want something bad enough quitting will never be an option. No matter how difficult things may get if it’s truly your hearts desire giving up won’t even be in the cards. Yes, you can get tired, yes, you get frustrated, yes you can take breaks but quitting on your gifts just can’t happen! If you quit it was never that important to you in the first place. You go after what you want and don’t stop until you get it.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
“Mobile Hibachi Atlanta” is a full service luxe dining experience that takes place in the comfort of your home or desired location. This idea was birthed after Covid. As an event planner with over 20 years of experience, a repeat customer called after the pandemic and asked me throw a party in her backyard . The idea was to social distance while utilizing the outdoors, and still creating a great celebration. My client opted for hibachi style food and hence Mobile Hibachi Atlanta was born.
What sets our brand apart is that, not only do we provide top tier cuisine, we bring the fun, entertainment and decor. No two parties are the same. This is not a cookie cutter service. The hibachi experience is custom fit based on the clients individual needs. The vibe can be totally relaxed or it can be a lituation. It’s truly however the client wants their dining experience to feel for themselves and their guest.
The value we bring to our clients is that we bring the overall restaurant experience in a modern unique style! Away with the long lines, wait times, rude customer service, cold food etc. You can do whatever , however you like. You can turn up at home, hookah at home, relax and do it your way.
A few of our greatest accomplishments thus far is being featured on a few reality shows, Good Day Atlanta & PortiaTv.
A few lessons, that I’ve learned along the way is to stay true to yourself. Do what works for you. Walk to the beat of your own drum. Don’t compare, figure out the way that it works for you. Strategic planning and strategic thinking are the key to success.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shout out to my mother. My mother is my true rider. She’s always been my sounding board, my voice of reason and my motivation. My mother is a business genius and helps me to see many different aspects of things and how to navigate through them. She’s my friend, counselor, prayer partner and the one who can keep me centered. I’m truly beyond grateful to have her in my life.
