We had the good fortune of connecting with Tennille Baptiste and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tennille, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
Growing up, I watched my mother embody what it truly means to be a go-getter. With unwavering determination, she made the bold decision to flee our home country of Trinidad, three kids in tow, in pursuit of a better life in New York. With little more than courage and relentless drive, she uprooted us from the familiar and forged a new path in a foreign land—often without a solid plan, but always with a clear vision.

She showed me firsthand that success isn’t just about having a plan—it’s about taking risks, adapting, and pushing forward no matter the odds. Through her, I learned that true success comes from resilience, the ability to stay focused, and the courage to chase your goals, even when the road ahead is uncertain.

Her journey wasn’t easy, but the lessons I’ve carried with me have shaped the way I approach every challenge. Whether in my career or personal life, I’ve learned that being a go-getter means not waiting for the perfect moment—it means creating it, no matter how difficult the circumstances.

My mother’s story is one of strength and grit, a powerful reminder that sometimes, the best way to succeed is to simply take that first step—no matter how daunting it may seem.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve had a diverse and exciting career as an Insurance Agent, Realtor, and Business Consultant, working with clients from super athletes to entrepreneurs. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business, graduating Magna cum Laude, and an Associate degree in General Studies. I’m also a licensed Real Estate Agent and a licensed Insurance Agent in Property & Casualty and Life & Health. What sets me apart is my adaptability and drive to keep learning and growing.

One of my proudest accomplishments is my podcast, Bitsh You Lucky—a raw, honest space where I share real-life experiences, personal growth lessons, and the messy beauty of navigating life.

Getting here wasn’t easy. I’ve faced challenges but learned that success comes from resilience, taking risks, and staying true to yourself. Most importantly, I’ve realized that growth doesn’t have to be perfect—it’s about embracing the journey and having fun along the way.

I want the world to know that with enough grit and heart, you can make it happen—and you don’t have to be perfect to get there.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
In addition to my mother, my grandmother is also a superhero to me. Her sacrifice, unconditional love, and dedication to ensuring that our family had a good life shaped me in ways I’ll forever be grateful for. Without her, I wouldn’t be where I am today. She not only laid the foundation for my growth but also inspired me to build and cherish a family of my own—a family that is now my backbone and my greatest source of strength.
