We had the good fortune of connecting with Teneise and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Teneise, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued a creative career because that’s the gift that I have. I’ve always been passionate about finding ways to bring my visions to life whether it was through my outfits, little videos I would make, or simply just through my artistic talents. I think it all just works out for me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Personal style has always been one of my biggest forms of self-expression. I originally wanted to start a clothing brand in about the 10th grade so that I could create clothes that I wanted to wear but I didn’t have much direction at that time. Fortunately, a little over a year ago with more experience and creative confidence, I finally made that leap so that I can create community and artistic expression through eye-catching pieces, highlighting things that I resonate with the most such as Black culture, art, fashion and music. Aside from my brand, modeling is something that is second nature. I get to mix my love for fashion with my love for visual arts, making it extremely exciting. Building the foundation on this journey wasn’t the slightest bit easy. There were many ups and downs and breaking out of comfort zones but keeping a positive mindset and enjoying the process itself is how I overcome any obstacles thrown my way. Throughout this journey, the biggest lesson I’ve learned is to just keep going. Keep believing. Keep creating.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is great because I love me a good time. So boom, Monday we start it off light. We go to Ponce City Market grab some food and drinks. Tuesday we take a little drive to Oh K Dog and get some Korean fried cheese. Wednesday we go to Piedmont Park and have a picnic then later go downtown for an open mic night. Thursday night we feeling fancy and we head over to Houston’s for dinner. Friday we go to the High Arts Museum and walk around the city then go to Waffle House. Saturday we go to Paschal’s for lunch and Sunday we go to Chilli’s because it’s good in every city. I just set y’all up for the best time possible.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout all my friends and family that have been supporting and partaking in my creative journey whether it’s been through giving me advice, modeling for Arcane Essence, buying a piece or two or just simply showing love. If I started naming names I’d go on and on, so shoutout to my support system and God!
