We had the good fortune of connecting with Tela Harmond and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tela, why did you pursue a creative career?
I’ve always danced to the beat of my own drum! I’ve always loved being in control and held solely accountable for my own work! I wouldn’t have lasted 10 minutes in a traditional work setting being and artist is a way of life!!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love to work with all types of hair in a Multi-cultural Stylist not only does it give me and edge by being able to take anyone that walks through the door but I learn so much and have constant inspiration around me it’s a very unique support system! I’m so proud to spread love and joy reguardless of what a person my look or identify as! Getting this point in my career has not be easy! Early on in most artist career there’s lots of struggling and self doubt that toy have to push through, I’ve learned to never take any opportunity for granted! I’ve learned more about people from waiting tables; you just would believe! This is just the start of everything I want my brand to encourage someone to walk up to a person that looks nothing like them and find a common ground! I want it to be normal for people who don’t look alike or come from the same place to have a seat at dinner together!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Chai Pani best Indian food in Atlanta Honey pig -Korean BBQ this place is like nothing you’ve ever seen!
I really enjoy long walks on the belt line there is literally a restaurant or shop that can satisfy even the pickiest of people!!
Truist Park- shop eat watch a game!! Can’t beat this place!!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
@colorswithchemistry Julie Klien @meateaocouture Sri Meateao These ladies literally changed the trajectory of my career. Being able to truly understand the science and the why behind your work if life changing I can’t thank these ladies enough I would not be where I am today!
