We had the good fortune of connecting with Tee Marie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tee, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think in order to be successful in life , you have to take risks. It’s a must ! Taking a risk is like betting on yourself and also believing in whatever you desire to do. When you walk by faith and not by sight , that is also taking a risk. Honestly you gotta think about it like this. If you don’t try it , someone else will. Why limit yourself when you haven’t even tried. Risk taking so far has gotten me a long ways , and I mean literally. Im originally from New York born in Harlem. And just recently transitioned from North Carolina where I graduated high school and attended college. Currently in the process of transferring schools now. So I’d say go ahead TAKE THAT RISK !
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am most proud of my many canvases and custom t-shirts sold over the past year. Because I honestly just one decided to take a risk and invest in myself and my talents. What sets me apart is my uniqueness, whether it’s artistically in a painting or the way I sound as an artist when I’m performing or recording. I got here today by staying focused on the big picture and having faith. It definitely wasn’t easy but prayer changes things. And every time I thought I was alone GOD showed me I wasn’t. I’ve learn not to trust any and everybody, to know my worth , and never lower my standards. Also life is what you make it. A good friend of mine also says “Life is all about CHOICES”. You can either let GOD lead you on the right path. Or let the devil trick you out of your inheritance.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my girl to the Icebar Atlanta , love the atmosphere and the setting. KISS Ultra lounge has good food. Theirs a pizza place downtown called Max’s pretty reasonable and good. Also a milkshake place to die for just across the street called “The Yard Milkshake Bar”. I’d also take her to visit dogwood park , there’s a lot of nice spots to take really cool photos and get a feel of the ATL vibes.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I absolutely loves this one book in high school called “ Speak” by Laurie Halse Anderson. And would recommend it to anyone because it teaches you a lot about life, how to not be afraid , take risks … and most importantly SPEAK YOUR TRUTH. I LOVE all of my family & friends who have and still continue to support me thus far. I know the ones who truly believe in me. And trust me it will all come into fruition in due time.
