We had the good fortune of connecting with Teagan Brinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Teagan, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The reason why I started my business was because of my grandparents, as they both have diabetes. One year I wanted to make them a special gift for their anniversary. So, I created diabetic bracelets for them, and they loved them. So much so that my grandmother encouraged me to make them for other people as well. She told me that not only are my bracelets stylish, but they serve a bigger purpose. That purpose is to help those with diabetes, should they have a medical emergency in public so that the first responders would be able to provide the appropriate treatment.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My profession is a student. I am in 6th grade in middle school. What sets me apart from other students is that I am in Algebra 1 and in 7th grade, I will be taking honors algebra. How I got to Algebra 1 was working hard in elementary school to get to accelerated math in elementary school to now Algebra 1 in 6th grade. To get to where I am now, I don’t think it was very hard to get here and I am very happy that I have the opportunity to be where I am now. One lesson that I learned is even when things are hard keep going. What I want people to know about me is that I am very confident and that I am a very talented person. One way to show that I am very talented is that I was allowed to participate in The Senate Page program for Atlanta, GA. I was there with Senator Tonya Anderson of District 43.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
An awesome time with my bestie would consist of laughter and smiles. For day 1 we would go to The Museum of Illusions in Atlanta, Georgia. Then we would go to Nan Thai Fine Dining for lunch or dinner. After that then we would go to the movie theater.

For day 2 we would go to Sloomoo in Atlanta, which is a place that has a lot of slime and is home to Elmer’s kitchen. After that then we would go to Nova which is a sushi place also in Atlanta. Then we travel back to McDonough and go to Story on the Square to get some books.

For day 3 we would go to Urban Air in McDonough. Afterward, we would go to Crust and Crafts for lunch or dinner as well.

For day 4 we would go to Pasta Max in McDonough. After dinner then we’d go to Scoops for my favorite Madagascar vanilla ice cream cones.

For day 5 we would go to Sky Zone in McDonough.

For day 6 we would go to the Botanical Gardens in Atlanta. Then we would go to the Varsity.

For day 7 we would lastly go to Target for a shopping spree in Locust Grove, then off to Chik – Fil -A,

In my view, the most fun places to go are the places that I have listed above. The most exciting people I have met are Dr.Monica of Deep Rooted Health and Wellness Med Spa and Senator Tonya Anderson of District 43.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
so first I want to give a shoutout to my grandmother because without her I don’t know if I would have started this business. I also want to give my mom a shoutout as well because she helped me get my business started and off the ground. My mom has helped to ensure my success which includes networking with others like Dr. Monica from Deep Rooted Health and Wellness Med Spa. She also supported me every step of the way, so it was very comforting to know that I have a lot of support from her and my grandmother.
