Meet Taylor Alexander: CEO of The Brand Flourisher, LLC

We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Alexander and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taylor, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The Brand Flourisher, LLC was created through a journey of self-discovery and overcoming hurdles to be unapologetically confident in my creative abilities. In elementary school, I self-taught myself how to graphic design, which led me to design social media profiles and web design. As I matriculated through high school, my creative portfolio grew, and then my computer’s hard drive died my senior year of high school. I felt defeated to the point that I briefly went “off-the-radar” from freelancing and graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. Let that sit for a minute lol. In 2013, I learned that I had a natural ability and passion for developing brands when I joined the Dance Ensemble at GSU (DEGSU) as a college freshman. Once individuals noticed my success with DEGSU’s increased brand awareness, a variety of industry professionals contacted me to assist with their brand strategy, marketing, and web design. Keep in mind that this occurred while I was studying to become a Physical Therapist, which those outside factors influenced my decision to no longer pursue this industry after graduation. Fast forward to 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic occurred, and I realized that businesses were transitioning online. They were attempting to establish a presence in the virtual realm and did not know where to start to sustain. This period inspired me to finally launch my creative branding agency, The Brand Flourisher, LLC, in September 2020. 2020 was definitely a year of overcoming perfectionism and discovered that I no longer need to worry about competing in a saturated industry. I am well-prepared and experienced to provide high-quality material and assistance to my clients.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Before I launched my business, I got laid off from 9-5 and set September 15, 2020, to be the pre-launch date for my business. A week before my pre-launch, I started a new job as a Talent Agent in the Entertainment Industry. My first major gig was agenting for the BET Hip Hop Awards, which was the same week of my pre-launch. I was overwhelmed but excited that God blessed with me two opportunities that will simultaneously help me grow as a multi-faceted professional. However, the entertainment industry is 24/7, which affects my time and speed to complete my business projects. I realized that I needed to create boundaries, set a daily schedule, create systems and processes, and propose reasonable project timelines to clients. This helped my workflow tremendously! I recommend all freelancers, start-ups, and business owners to research systems that will make your life easier through automation, project management, and bookkeeping. The Brand Flourisher, LLC (TBF) is a creative branding agency that assists brands and businesses flourish within and outside of their industry. We specialize in Brand Development, Video Marketing, and Web Design. Since our launch in September 2020, we grew in popularity in our Video Marketing department. We received inquiries to create custom and innovative Video Content Creation (Motion Graphics, Youtube Intros/Outros, Promo Videos, and Video Ads). The Video Marketing sector of TBF holds a special place in my heart. I began creating Youtube Intros/Outros for Influencers out of a whim and did not expect it to be a popular service. Moral of the story: Take a risk and show the “world” your talents because you may end up flourishing in it!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is a great question because I do not get out much, haha! However, I was born and raised in Atlanta, so I am familiar with the ins and outs of my city. I would first recommend them to book an Airbnb outside of Downtown Atlanta & Midtown due to the never-ending traffic. First, we will start our day across town to Vickery Creek Falls Roswell Mill to enjoy the beautiful waterfall and ambiance. Then, we will go to South Fulton to have lunch at Mr. Everything Cafe. I am a fan of their Healthy Choice Salmon Rice Bowl. It is so delicious! After lunch, we will go to the Georgia Aquarium. Then, grab dinner in Midtown at Ponko Chicken. I like Ponko Chicken because they have vegan and vegetarian options and it is a cute restaurant. Lastly, we will end our eventful day at Revery Virtual Reality Bar and play the “walk across the street game without getting hit game”. It’s a doozy lol. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. I would like to recognize Olivia Thompson from Liv In The Moment Events, which is a full-service, wedding and event planning business. Olivia planned my wedding and I can not imagine what our wedding day would have been without her! From the ceremony to the reception, it was an unforgettably beautiful experience and we received so many compliments from guests.
