We had the good fortune of connecting with Tayler Burke and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tayler, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
As a Make Up Artist I take pride in using quality products on my clients and even on myself. The thought process of starting my business is I am a walking billboard. My clients literally shop off of me (i.e. “What lipstick is that? What foundation do you buy? etc.). Even after I do my clients make up and they call/text asking what was a certain product I used and where did I buy it? One day I thought about it. I’m familiar with ingredients and formulas, I know what I like and what I don’t like, and what are the attention getters when I’m approached about my make up? That is how Tayler Andrea Cosmetics was created.

What should our readers know about your business?
It was not easy to get to where I am with my business. In the beginning it seemed simple enough with being face to face with my customers. Now, operating through mainly social media has slowed me down in my tracks and I have to get creative as possible. Creating more content to catch their attention in hopes of getting that view into a buy. I’m constantly figuring out ways to market my brand and keep a social media presence. I’ve learned that being consistent helps. I want the world to know that my brand is created with care and love. It isn’t just about the money but how one gets excited about the purchase and every detail that I put into getting it right. I have something for everyone.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting Atlanta I would start with the Blue Heron nature preserve for a nice walk in the morning. For lunch or brunch I would take them to Pig and Pearl in Atlantic Station, they have amazing mimosas and a delicious French toast. Next, a trip to the Beltline for some tasty treats and maybe a bike or scooter ride. For dinner I would definitely suggest Capital Grille their lobster Mac and cheese *kisses to the chef*.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout my mother Denise. As a creative child my skills and talents were nurtured properly. My mother had me in programs that involved cooking, dancing, singing, and more. My mother would be at my performances recording me dance or even at home rehearsing the routines with me. Even now I think I surprise her with the random projects I do because I was just bored. My mom speaks so much life into my talents even when I doubt myself. I couldn’t ask for a better person to encourage me to be me.
