We had the good fortune of connecting with TayJah Jennings and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi TayJah, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
To keep going is to keep learning. For me, giving up is not an option. I knew stepping outside of my comfort zone and starting my youtube channel (Tay Tv) was a risk that I was willing to take. I’m new to youtube and I’m already realizing it’s not easy creating content, editing videos, balancing work, school, and my life. However, I’m willing to work hard to make my channel a success and I can not do that if I give up. I always check in with myself to make sure I still love what I’m doing and to make sure the passion is still there. I feel like if I’m in alignment with my life’s purpose and serving others in some way, I can’t go wrong. So, I can not give up.
I have to stay organized and manage my time properly in order to produce quality content, however the passion I have drives me to keep going no matter what happens. Now with that being said, realistically life happens to all of us. Circumstances won’t always be perfect but I will never regret my choice to take a leap in the face of uncertainty. I personally will just change directions, take a different approach or adjust and improve in areas as needed. A change in direction is not a reason to stop.
Being a content creator is uncomfortable but taking chances becomes inspiring, putting together ideas, having fun and seeing the final results is also inspiration to keep going.
I started my Youtube channel(Tay TV) and I am now committed to my channel’s growth and my success. I will continue to learn and grow and I will not give up.
Love,
Tay

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a new content creator/influencer on Youtube. My Youtube channel (Tay Tv) is about lifestyle overall and under that broad category this will include fashion, beauty, travel, vlogs, product reviews, Tay Talks (interviews/story time), and my dog (pit-lab mix) Onyx. I feel that my creativity will set me apart from others. Yes, the topics are familiar however I will put my creative spin in each episode. I’m proud that despite feeling nervous and a little fearful at first I pushed through those feelings and just went for it and I’m happy I did. I’m also proud of the hard work, dedication, discipline, and focus I’m putting towards my channel to produce quality content. I get really excited about dropping each episode and reading the comments to get my subscribers’ reactions to the videos. I’m also excited to reach the goals I set for myself, my channel, and to see what my future holds. I honestly feel like I’m not “there” yet professionally because I’m just beginning to create content. This process is definitely not easy, I have gotten this far by first making the decision to start my Youtube channel then incorporating daily habits (organization, time management, focus, and discipline) to reach my goals and I also have a great support system. Being a content creator definitely takes focus, consistency, and discipline. I feel as though this process is helping me to grow as a person along the way. For example, editing helps me with patience and being detail orientated. I would describe myself as outgoing, fun, loving, and a loyal person. I’m coming into my own as a young woman, I’m a full time college student majoring in mass communications. I’m also slowly taking on adulthood by balancing work, school, caring for my dog, and my personal life. I also love my family and friends and it’s important for me to spend time with them as well. I’m here to connect with my audience and become their virtual bestie. My desire is to use my channel to inspire, inform, entertain, and serve others in some way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love to go out and explore new places. I’m not originally from Atlanta so being a tourist in a new city is exciting. Some restaurants I would recommend are The Wing Suite to get the best wings in town or one of my favorite places, Corner Cafe, it’s great for a breakfast spot or even to grab some lunch. A bar I would recommend is Slush. The drinks are like a party in your mouth. There are so many places to visit in Atlanta but two places that stand out to me the most are Krog Street Tunnel and Market or Ponce City Market. So many great restaurants and nice scenery to check out. A great hang out spot I love to go to is Atlantic Station. This is a great place to get some shopping done, grab some food, check out one of the movie nights they have for entertainment, and you can also take your dog.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my sisters, family/friends, and most importantly my mother. The support I have received from the people that love me has been amazing. My friend’s and family believe in me and the gratitude I feel for them gives me an overwhelming feeling of joy. To my mother, words can’t describe how thankful I am for her and everything that she does for me and continues to do. Her guidance and leadership is shaping me into the young woman I am becoming. Her attention to detail is the effort I appreciate so much. She shows so much love to me and my YouTube channel and for that I am always thankful. There’s always something that’s bigger than me and the amount of love and support I receive just makes me want to give the love back one hundred times more.
