We had the good fortune of connecting with Tay White and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tay, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
It’s something that came naturally, I found myself creating pieces overtime and eventually I took the leap of faith and decided to create items that I felt were worthy to sale.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I own a clothing brand named Tolv Studios. The idea started back in 2014, but we launched officially ‘22. Running a clothing brand has its challenges like any other market, but it’s all based on your goals. Creating is mine, so as long as I’m able to do that, I’ll deal with the rest. I’ve learned to not compare my brand to others, we all have different audiences & visions on how we see things. Tunnel vision is the key.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a creative but my first love is basketball. So any hoop event around you can find me there. The HIGH is also a touristy spot for the creatives, and the city has a plethora of restaurants to stop at, just depending the vibe they’re looking for.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
God firstly, and all the many artists & creatives that I’ve drawn inspiration from over the years.
