We had the good fortune of connecting with Tay Rose Dior and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tay Rose, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process was simple: I wanted freedom, legacy, and the ability to create my own opportunities. I’ve always had an eye for beauty, fashion, and business, but I didn’t want to wait for someone to validate me or open doors for me. Starting my own business allowed me to build something that reflects my vision and values while creating multiple streams of income. For me, it was about taking control of my future and proving that with discipline and strategy, you can build the life you want on your own terms.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Getting to where I am today has been a journey of discipline, consistency, and faith but it definitely wasn’t easy. I had to build everything from the ground up, often without guidance, and that forced me to become resourceful and strategic. There were moments where I felt overlooked or underestimated, but instead of letting that break me, I let it fuel me.

The biggest lessons I’ve learned are that discipline beats motivation, boundaries protect your peace, and you can’t skip the process you have to put in the work to get the results.

What I want the world to know about me and the Tay Rose Dior brand is that everything I have is self-made. I’ve built this life through intention, hard work, and staying true to my vision. My story is proof that you can create your own lane and turn your dreams into reality without waiting for permission.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting for a week, I’d give them the full Tay Rose Dior experience. We’d start with brunch at Garden Room or Breakfast at Barney’s because Atlanta does brunch like no other. After that, maybe a little luxury shopping at Phipps Plaza or Lenox, and of course a private appointment at Hermès for that exclusive treatment.

Evenings would be for fine dining places like Marcel or Nobu for dinner, followed by cocktails at a rooftop lounge with a view of the city.

During the week, we’d also take some time for wellness and relaxation maybe a spa day at Jeju or a luxury hotel spa. And of course, we’d mix in content days, because this city is full of Instagram-worthy locations.

Atlanta is vibrant, luxurious, and full of culture, and I’d make sure they experience every bit of that from the quiet elegance to the high-energy nightlife. By the time they left, they’d understand exactly why I love this city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d dedicate my shoutout to my parents and grandparents first. Their strength, love, and wisdom shaped the foundation of who I am. They taught me the value of independence, class, and moving with integrity. I also want to recognize the clients and supporters who believed in me early on, even when my brand was still growing. And of course, I give credit to myself because none of this would have been possible without the discipline, sacrifice, and consistency I put into building Tay Rose Dior into what it is today.
