We had the good fortune of connecting with Tawanda Sparks and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tawanda, how do you think about risk?
When it comes to taking risks, I am strong believer that it builds confidence. Taking risks definitely improves your chances of achieving the goals you desire.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a mom I make sure my motherly duties are a part of my daily routine and anything that is scheduled for my children are placed as priority.  I plan tasks by importance from the smallest task to the largest and I write it down. I focus on the ultimate task at hand. My mornings are busy reading and researching many topics that pertain to myself and my life. I make sure that I check my email periodically during the day so that I am on top of things.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would recommend Suite Food Lounge for food, fun and great music. Exploring downtown Atlanta is always a must. I would consider networking events for exciting people because you never know who you will meet.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to my sisters of Women on The Rise All Access, especially our founder, mentor, and producer Kathy Patterson-Taylor, my business coach Adria Robinson and my Coach/Editor Robin Devonish known as The Self Publishing Maven for their roles in pushing and motivating me to take risks and step out of my comfort zone. I am in such a great place today because these ladies believed in me and my potential. I’m grateful that I have people who has a desire to help others along the way. My photographer Chaelle Dean of Chaelle Visuals played a major role by encouraging me to just live and have fun and also capturing my most memorable moments in life. A huge shoutout to my business bestie Rasheenea Young for holding me accountable for achieving some of my biggest goals in life. I am grateful for all of the motivation and encouragement of helping me rise and level up to be a better version of myself. I am now a self published author of Weeping Courage and a co-author of Women on The Rise All Access. A special shoutout goes to all of the co-authors on our book and docu-series Women on The Rise All Access for such awesomeness!
