We had the good fortune of connecting with Tavonne Delgado and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tavonne, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
After I figure out what my next step in life is I always look at who is already doing what I want to do on an extraordinary level. I take notes and then I apply my own knowledge mixed with what I learned. I started out doing music but realized the business aspect was more important in a sense so I created my own brand and started to push it independently.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the CEO Of Jackpot Enterprises, an independent musical label that assists independent artists with getting all the top quality resources they need, for example Videographers, Photographers, Mixing Engineers even features from big artists are available through JPENT. What sets our company apart from others is that we really care for the individual artist because I am an artist myself and I know personally how overwhelming it can be to make your stamp in this music industry. Connections are everything.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I personally do not get out as much as I should, however if I had a friend visit from another place for a week I would tend to their likes and wants as I have a different variety of friends. There are a few clubs and spots to eat that I favor such as ACE of Atlanta , Josephines Lounge, Gold room, some nice calm spots to eat that I like are Twin Peaks, STK, Benihana’s etc. And of course we would have to make a couple studio trips. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I like to trace my roots of music back to my father who is from New York and was a popular DJ back in his prime. As I was growing up i could not escape the sounds and lyrics that were right in front of me and I eventually grew to love them
