We had the good fortune of connecting with Tauruio and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tauruio, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Well for starters I started listening to rap music at the age of 6 and Kanye West made me wanna be creative. As a kid seeing my parents argue and get divorce I felt voiceless. I feel like many of us feel voiceless and helpless so we give up or numb our pain. For me I’ve never done drugs or alcohol. The older I got I grieved by writing songs and making beats. But the main reason for me to pursue my artist goals is to make my brother proud. He’s the reason for everything. Andmy friends who passed away I promised them that I would honor their name in my songs. My path is still new and everyday I worked towards my goal of becoming one of the greats.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My music talks about my life. What sets my music apart from other artists is my flow. My flow has been unique since the age of 15 and I’ve been perfecting my sound. I’m proud of my latest release Atlanta Boy Soulfull of life which is about my development as a teen to a young adult. I feel like every song I make has to be as transparent as possible. I feel that I have a story to tell and ima tell it. My musical journey is a personal challenge. I had to work a 9-5 to get all my music equipment. The lesson I learned is to be humble and work for everything you have because it pays off in the end. Keep following your dreams and invest in yourself it will pay off.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honestly me and the homies maybe would just walk around and talk about life, nothing too serious. Me and my squad save money and invest in ourselves.

But if I have to say the perfect place it would be to hop on the marta trains and just listen to music. The Marta train was a humbling experience because it showed me how to accept people for who they are and to teach me how to mind my business lol. I’m naturally a noisy person but the marta train and bus can humble you real quick. Maybe even make a friend you see every now and then.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My brother he’s a year older than me. He put me on to Kanye West at a young age

My father because he helped me become a man and showed me it’s ok to have emotions.

My music partner asoul who encourage me to keep going for what I believe in and pushes me to work even harder.

My mother raised me to be an amazing young man.

My friends who passed away may all rest in peace.
