We had the good fortune of connecting with Tatiana Bynum and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tatiana, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My business all started when I started to get my own individual lashes done. Previously in 2018-2019, I use to sell clothes one point at a time, random accessories like keychains and lip gloss, wigs as well. Nothing about selling those things stuck with me. I felt like I was doing it for the money and not necessarily doing it because i loved it. I realized to have a successful business you need to love what you do & that’s why I do lashes. After I took my first class, I never looked back! That’s when I knew I had a passion for lash extensions.

What should our readers know about your business?
Doll Me Up came around in 2019 when I started selling hair. That name always stuck with me because that’s exactly what I like to do that makes me feel pretty, doll myself up. As a woman who doesn’t like to feel like a barbie when you got your lashes, feet, nails, and hair done?! I know I do! So that’s how my name came about. The following year is when I got into lashing. I started getting my lashes done and I haven’t stopped since! The feeling you feel about yourself after you get a little enhancement is out of this world! So i knew I wanted to give my clients the same feeling and treatment! This year will make 4 years for me and it has had its ups and downs. With me still working a 9-5 while still lashing, I do think I’m fulfilling my clients needs. Although i know I don’t have much availability, I still go over and beyond for my clients as they know! That’s honestly the most challenging thing with my business. One thing I have learned while lashing is you can’t service everyone. Everyone is not your client and that took a while for me to understand. When I first started, my goal was to service any and everybody but with a business, you have a niche, you have a target audience. THAT is what counts in your business and for your business to succeed. Once you find that, you can take off! Doll Me Up Lash will be one of the next lash companies worldwide that supply lash products for beginner lash techs to use! So if you’re not already, make sure you follow the journey and follow me on all social medias!
