We had the good fortune of connecting with Tati Grant and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tati, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own salon and spa, listen it definitely not my idea. It’s crazy because when people ask me what made me open in Mandi’ s Salon and Spa, I always say it was a super natural download from God.
And no point in my wildest dreams that I ever think that I would own a spa. After graduating undergrad, and then went to school for massage therapy.. so it made sense but it wasn’t my own dream.
I listen to God, and let him lead my steps to this place. And it’s definitely much more than I could have imagined on my own. My grandmother, in which Mandi’s is named after, used to say, in order to be good, or do good in the world you have to look good and feel good. So that’s what we do here at Mandis Salon & Spa, we restore the bodies to their natural homeostasis, while making you look and feel beautiful on the inside and out.
What should our readers know about your business?
Mandi’s Salon and Spa is a full-service holistic healing day spa & beauty salon. We offer a variety of services from holistic massage to extensive facial treatments including body treatments and hair, and make up services. Our products are exclusive to us and our source internationally from other countries, that’s what makes us unique aside from being a one stop shop.
In order for me to be in this place of peace, healing, and entrepreneurship. It took a lot of dedication and sacrifice. Many many tears and plenty of sleepless nights. I wouldn’t say my journey to this point was easy but I can definitely say it’s worth it and I haven’t been more happier. Nobody tells you what goes into entrepreneurship. Nobody gives you a warning. It’s just something you have to do and learn along the way, and thus far we have been very victorious in everything that we have set out to accomplish.
I want the world to know that they will not reach their destination if God is not first. If you don’t silence the noise around you, exclude yourself from your surroundings, you will never be able to hear what it is that he wants you to do. Following your own vision, and dream, without the help of God can be very detrimental to your purpose here on earth. I highly recommend and suggest everyone to let God lead you to what it is that he calls you to do this way you are truly fulfilled in entrepreneurship and not slaving day today.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So if my friends were to come and visit me here in Atlanta, of course, our first stop would be Roc South for brunch, then we would probably do an extracurricular activity at Puttshack or Andretti’s. Of course, dinner would be at Marcel’s or. Cheetahs!
I would definitely take them to see the beltline, I will do a little shopping at Phipps Plaza. Probably take a walk around the new bellyard quarry.
And lastly, I would throw a full day of pampering for my gang of course at Mandi’s Salon & Spa. Considering how busy I am this would definitely be broken up over the week lol I don’t have that much time but they will have a great time!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
You know, honestly, and I’m being very transparent here when I say this; if it wasn’t for the nightlife, I would not be where I am today. most people tend to look down on nightlife employees, but we are built differently. We have an obscene amount of resilience, determination, ambition, and no one out, hustle us. If it wasn’t for the nightlife in its entirety, I might not have persevered and had the opportunity to transition from being an employee to an entrepreneur in my own discretion. So that’s why I’m here now. Blessed and honored to be in this position to help bridge the gap between nightlife and entrepreneurship with my new program The Master Creché.
