We had the good fortune of connecting with Tasnim Rahman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tasnim, how does your business help the community?
Tazs & Company is a technology strategy consulting and implementation firm focused on emerging markets and developing economies. Our vision is to serve humanity globally through technology strategy, innovation, and research and development in these markets. Currently, my company has a few sectors of focus where we can create an impact through technology which include climate and decarbonization, finance and banking, and workforce and economic development.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
As mentioned, Tazs & Co. is a technology strategy consulting and implementation company in emerging markets and developing economies. Our mission is the harness the potential of technology to propel economic growth, enhance quality of life, and foster inclusivity in emerging markets and developing economies across the globe. Our work is driven by a deep commitment to innovation, research excellence, and a profound respect for the unique challenges and opportunities presented by these dynamic markets. I founded this company in 2021 as I started my MBA as a vehicle to work on projects and build its portfolio throughout my academic coursework. Many of the projects were pro-bono and done in various markets and countries, such as Kenya, Ghana, and Italy, and sectors, such as agriculture, startups and foreign investment, and climate. It definitely was not easy and has been very challenging with sleepless nights and burnout, but it’s my passion for the work being done and vision of the future that kept me going. I learned to always keep an open mind, learn from others, and continue to be a work in progress. I also learned that teamwork is very important even though finding partners to trust can be difficult. But with an open mind, wisdom, and a vision, anything can be possible.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were to visit, I would take her to The Chastain or Casi Cielo for breakfast or lunch. I would then take her to one of my favorite spots to get some work done passively, Lions the Ultra Lounge. For dinner, I would take her to Palo Santo or Marcel. For fun, I would take her to Puttshack where afterwards we can get a drink and soak in the Atlanta skyline at Drawbar. If she would like to step out for the night for some drinks, I would take her to Spaceman for nice rooftop views and curated cocktails. I also would take her to Ace Atlanta. I also enjoy Ponce City Market and the beltline over there during the day. Finally, a nice movie time at home is always a good way to go.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am looking forward to seeing Tazs & Co. as well as myself grow even more. But for how far I have gotten with my endeavors, I have to appreciate my parents for the hard work and dedication in showing me the things that are really important in life. I also appreciate my sister and my best friend, Amina, who is also my sister. True sisterhood is an amazing thing and a support system that you cannot find anywhere else. I also would like to give credit to my Techsgiving family for always being supportive and helping me expand my horizons through my skillsets for impactful projects. Finally, I recently graduated with my MBA focused on Strategy & Innovation from Georgia Tech’s Scheller College of Business. This really propelled me in unimaginable ways in my business and career.
