Meet Tashanna Harris | Owner of R Castle LLC

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tashanna Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tashanna, how do you think about risk?
My thoughts on risk are bitter-sweet, because risk can become the cause of gains in the long run but, on the other hand, not all things are worth the risk. People always say, “the bigger the risk the better the reward”. In my life I have taken several risks, some which turned out a gain such as starting my business from scratch and getting positive feedback, others have taught me life lessons. One risk I took when I turned 23 was moving to Atlanta. The idea was eerie yet, the infatuation of me coming into a new era, new beginning gave me anxiety which has always been a factor in my life. Starting my business was a personal and interpersonal reward. That risk gave me an outer body experience. You get to like meet yourself again. You also meet different people who you learn from. It opened my eyes to all the possibilities if you laser focus, have passion for your craft and realize that patience is a virtue. Especially in entrepreneurship. Taking that leap to freedom is a lesson, you always have that thought of what if it doesn’t work out how we want. While on the other hand, just knowing you took the thought and brought it into existence is rewarding and makes you feel purposeful. Taking risks definitely not for the weak though.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
R Castle LLC is an undergarments brand which is dedicated to providing comfort to your lifestyle. We are just big on BEING YOU man. No one can ever change who you are. I want you to grasp every minute you can from the moment you wake up, show gratitude. Normally the first thing you do before you put on your clothes is put on your UnderWear. Go throughout your day with thoughts of “you matter” under whatever the circumstance. (R) stands for Royalty, we are all royal, on a journey in life to understand our purpose. What better way to understand your purpose than understanding yourself. Especially in a world where folks have an expectation of how they “think” you should be. We can’t please everyone, so start with yourself. I think I’m most proud of being able to create a brand dedicated to the people and wanting you to know you and me are no different. My path isn’t easy but, with hard work and resilience I’m trying to make it have meaning. Bringing this idea to life, I’ve learned that not everything translates well, and you have to find out what works for you. Challenges will come up but it’s your mindset that will break down every wall that’s placed along the way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting the area, I would definitely take them to Birria El Gordo in Smyrna, GA their Jackfruit Birria tacos smash! Events wise umm, depending on the vibe we’d stop by The Summer Art brewery at Monday Night Garage for art, shopping, food. Outside of that I’m an adventurous person so we definitely hitting up the waterfalls in Alpharetta. There are many great things to explore around Atlanta; you just have to get out and explore.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Man, I would love to give a shoutout to any one in my life who has supported me along the way, especially my mom. Even if you’ve given me book recommendations or even given me a little piece of advice to continue my journey forward, I appreciate you! We all know this journey in life is not easy and you can get down, so to even get the love and support from family members and strangers is a huge plus! I would say though, a book by Dan Sullivan called ” The Gap and The Gain” has changed my perspective on life and how it’s very important to stay in the gains (living in the present and remembering where we are now from where we started) because it’s so easy to get lost in the gap (negative thinking of life, thinking we should be further in life than where we are). So also, shoutout to Dan for putting things in perspective.
