We had the good fortune of connecting with Tasha Buckner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tasha, why did you pursue a creative career?
I chose an artistic/creative career because it’s so exciting to see what I imagine in my mind come to life when I do my clients hair. The reaction I get from a client when they look in the mirror and see the change is so satisfying. I get to enhance their beauty and to see the change of their confidence afterwards is priceless!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I create Masterpieces… one head at a time. The atmosphere, energy and quality of service is what sets me apart from others. I’m most excited about recently becoming a Certified Trichologist which is a hair loss and scalp disorder specialist. I am now able to help women determine what the root cause of their hair loss and scalp maladies. Plus I am also excited about the recent opening of my salon suites in which I own and lease to other beauty professionals. I am where I am today because I’ve remained a student and continously educate myself. The journey has not been easy but I have definitely enjoyed the ride. I overcome challenges by trying to always have a positive attitude and perspective. I’ve learned that when you do what you love its never work and that’s what makes it so enjoyable. Elements of Art Hair Gallery founded in 2012 in Decatur, thrives on principles that promote positivity and creativity like many masterpieces. It has established itself as a place where our focus is on the health of your hair.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Pre Covid we would go to concert at one of our outdoor amphitheaters, Sage Woodfield Tavern on Fridays for music and a good time and Arizona’s for the best Apple Martinis.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to thank my clients for trusting me with their hair care needs and their continued support through the years.
