We had the good fortune of connecting with Tarsha M. Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tarsha M., is there something you believe many others might not?
I disagree with the conventional advice of ‘sleep when you die’. In a society that prioritizes chasing money, I believe it’s crucial to rest in the presence of God. Instead of chasing money, we should focus on walking in purpose. The term ‘chasing’ implies that we’re trying to catch something that is running away from us, which can lead to exhaustion and ultimately burnout. However, walking in purpose allows us to work without the burden of toiling.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
On December 1st, 2023, I released my first book titled “Constantly Redeemed”. It’s a personal testimony of my life filled with childhood trauma, sex, drugs, and how I found redemption. What sets my story apart is my transparency about the things I’ve done and been through. Even though I never planned on sharing my deepest darkest secrets with the world, I know there are plenty of others struggling with the same issues. I believe God brought me through my struggles to be a source of light to help others come out of the pits of darkness.

I am also excited to share that I have started a non-profit organization called “Faith-In-Trinity Teen Moms, Inc.” or “F.I.T. Teen Moms” for short. As someone who became a mom at the age of 15, I understand the societal stigmas and feelings of embarrassment and shame that often come with being a teen mom. Though I had support, I know that many teen moms do not have access to the support they need. My organization will be there to assist and provide any life necessities that both the mom and baby may require. In the near future, I also plan to extend F.I.T. Teen Moms to Tanzania, Africa, and the surrounding countries.

I must admit, everything I have been through and achieved so far has not been easy. There were moments when I felt like giving up, but I am grateful to God and His Son Jesus for giving me the strength, faith, and clarity to keep moving forward towards the purpose they have for my life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I hope there will be networking and gospel conferences while they are in town. Other items on our itinerary include the Georgia Aquarium, Atlanta Botanical Garden, Atlanta Magic Theater, and the Grand Park Food & History Tour.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am deeply grateful to my grandmother for being my rock when everyone else turned their backs on me. She loved and accepted me without judgment, and I will always cherish her unconditional love. Since becoming a mother myself, my son has become my favorite supporter. He was there for me during my teenage years when I had him, and he never stopped loving me despite the challenges we faced together. I also want to thank my mother for supporting me throughout my pregnancy and helping me raise my son. And lastly, I am thankful for Pastor Denvar and Rene Marks in Tanzania, Africa, who provided me with spiritual guidance and a sense of purpose, as well as all of my prayer warriors.
