We had the good fortune of connecting with Taresa Scott and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taresa, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
When I think about the word risk, the first thing that comes to mind is “opportunity”. For me, my greatest “risks” were opportunities that pushed me one step closer to achieving my goals. I’ve learned to trust my intuition to determine what is the next step I should take. When I evaluate what it is that I truly want when a “risk” presents itself, I often ask myself, “Is it worth it?” Risks are not always a bad thing.

Depending on our goals, most risks generate big rewards. I’ll admit mine have been scary, and sometimes left me with moments of uncertainty but as I look back those risks that I took were how I landed my greatest accomplishments, learned something new, and did something impactful. It was ultimately for my greatest good. Every step that I’ve taken in my career has some sort of risk and sacrifice to move forward but it has made me stronger and wiser along the way.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Bleuprint is an EdTech company founded to help organizations develop future-ready professionals for the long-term growth and retention of their workforce through continuous learning and development. Our mission is to empower modern learners to own their skill development through self-paced learning that is easy to access, relevant to their career goals, and specific to their role.

What I love about what we do at Bleuprint is provide professionals who are willing and ready to grow in their careers with the education and knowledge to succeed! It’s amazing to see professionals level up in their careers and work with organizations that are passionate about investing in the skill development of their employees.

I established Bleuprint out of my love for learning and creativity! I entered the field of learning and development shortly after earning my first Master’s degree in Education. I fell in love with adult learning theories, the technology that supports the delivery of a quality learning experience, and the science behind how we as adults absorb information to learn.

After leading several learning initiatives to onboard, upskill, and reskill employees of global organizations, I decided to transfer the skills and knowledge I acquired to support mid-sized organizations make learning in the workplace their competitive advantage to train and retain their workforce.

Over the years, I’ve learned that we as a society will continue to evolve so I must continue to expand my knowledge and skills as an innovator in the EdTech space. True mastery in this field is learning how to do something more than one way to achieve unique business goals and learning outcomes.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If a friend were visiting, I’d take them to downtown Dallas to see the AT&T Discovery district and have brunch in the courtyard from one of the restaurants in the area. I’d also take them over to Deep Ellum for a few drinks, an arcade, and a bus tour of the city. Lastly, we’d visit the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, and get some barbecue or steak from a local restaurant.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d love to send a special shoutout to my family and the amazing professionals that I have met throughout 2023! My family has been my ultimate support and foundation throughout this journey. Also, I’ve grown in my community of support from seasoned professionals and entrepreneurs who are changemakers willing to share gems they’ve learned along the way. Each person has made an impact and I truly appreciate all the support I’ve received thus far!
