We had the good fortune of connecting with Tara Love and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tara, why did you pursue a creative career?
Music is powerful. I have many attributes to myself, including a bachelors degree. But, music truly makes me feel good. It is an indescribable feeling, especially when you create music. For instance, from the time I receive an instrumental to the time I write and record is such an amazing experience. Being able to hear the composition after it is completed is surreal. It also feels like an accomplishment. Because, being an artist is diligent work—from branding yourself to the songs you choose to release. I chose this path to continually create and rearrange my essence by using my words and voice, and help from producers, by using their beats.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Diligence, determination, and dedication are a necessity in becoming and staying an artist. Music is the biggest part of my work, but there are numerous contributions it takes to make it successful. Social media activity is one. Professional photos are another. Also, the music you put out is not only to show your talent, but it is to be relatable to the people who listen to it. Because we all experience different situations in our lives, I feel music produces that balance that gives a sense of self-control.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in Atlanta, so there are many things to do, despite being in a pandemic. My suggestion to anyone living or visiting here (and has not been) is to visit the roof at Ponce City Market. It is a stunning view of the city. And, at the market there are many great restaurants and bars to choose to eat and drink from.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to recognize my good friend and producer, Daro Tha Pharaoh. In multiple ways, he has helped me develop as an artist and has keep my creativity flowing. My first single and release was “Real Music.” To this day, it is still my most popular song, and Daro is the man behind the instrumental track. I have so many songs produced by him and we continue to support and work with each other in our artistic careers. So again, shout out to Daro Tha Pharaoh, you deserve it!
