We had the good fortune of connecting with Tara GilbertRoss and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tara, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My husband and I have committed our lives to serving God, country, family and community. This new endeavor comes on the heels of mental breakdown for me. This family restaurant is our new way of serving.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve accompanied many goals in which I’m thankful for. Despite being a teen mom with many traumas growing up in ChicAgo, IL. I was blessed to marry a man who loves and respects me. I had a successful military career that was followed by civil service. My educational background includes a Bachelor of education, a Master’s degree in Business Administration, and a PhD in Public. Policy. I’ve mentored and trained other business owners.. I’m a published writer. . I’m a mother of seven children and I have been blessed with six grandchildren. and one Grandpuppy. I’m most proud of my ability to educate and inspire others.
My faith and tenacity are responsible for where I’m currently at in life.
Nothing, has been easy for me in this lifetime!
I’m still learning to overcome. It’s a process.
I want people to see the journey of healing of mind, body and soul when they encounter the brand. This restaurant is dedicated to celebrating the journey of the “African American culture” while seeking to bring awareness to our health and mental health.
