Meet Tara Evans

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Tara Evans again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Tara, always such a pleasure connecting with you and thank you for sharing your stories, insights and inspiring messages with our community. We’re looking forward to getting the download and what you have been up to since our last interview, but first can you briefly introduce yourself to folks who might have missed the prior conversation.
I’m Tara of Tara Harp Photography, a passionate photographer dedicated to capturing the essence of people, brands, and life’s most meaningful moments. While I started as a wedding photographer—building a reputation for storytelling through love-filled celebrations—my journey has evolved to focus on branding, family, and event photography. I believe in using photography not just as an art form, but as a way to elevate businesses, showcase marketplace ministry, and create lasting legacies for families.
What sets me apart is my ability to blend authenticity with a refined, professional aesthetic. Whether I’m working with corporate clients to enhance their brand presence or capturing the joy of families in a single frame, my goal is always to create imagery that resonates and tells a story.
My brand is built on connection, intentionality, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, timeless images. As I continue to expand into branding and corporate photography, I remain focused on helping businesses and individuals visually communicate their unique message with impact.
I’m excited for what’s ahead and grateful to do work that not only captures beautiful moments but also empowers others in their journeys.

Alright, so our main goal today is to give our audience an update on what you have been up to since our last conversation. We’d love to hear how things are going and what you are most looking forward to or excited about these days.
Since our last conversation, my photography journey has taken an exciting shift! While weddings have long been a cornerstone of my business, I’m now taking on a limited number of them as I evolve and focus more on branding, family, and event photography. This transition allows me to be more intentional with the weddings I do take, while dedicating more time to the areas of photography that align with my current vision and passion. People and storytelling is still at the forefront of it all and that has not changed.
One of the biggest shifts has been redefining my brand to align with this new direction. My website and marketing have been evolving to attract the right clients—those looking for high-quality, intentional imagery that tells their story. It’s been a process of trial and error, but I’m embracing the challenge and learning so much along the way.
The holiday season is also keeping me busy, as I offer Holiday Mini Sessions each year! It’s something I look forward to , it’s a time to create beautiful, festive memories for families.
Of course, transitions come with their challenges. As previously mentioned weddings have been a significant part of my journey, and while I still love capturing them, I’m now taking on a limited number as I evolve. Balancing this shift while maintaining financial stability has required strategic planning, but I truly believe in the power of niching down and focusing on work that aligns with where my heart is now.
Looking ahead, I’m most excited about expanding my branding photography and continuing to attract corporate clients and entrepreneurs. I also want to deepen the connection between my photography and marketplace ministry—helping faith-driven entrepreneurs and businesses showcase their work in a way that speaks to their purpose.
It’s been a season of growth, refinement, and stepping into new opportunities. I’m grateful for the journey and excited for what’s ahead!

Life is often about tough choices – can you talk to us about your thought process, strategy or philosophy when it comes to making difficult choices or tradeoffs.
Life is often about tough choices, but I want to focus on the entrepreneurial journey. Being an entrepreneur is not for the faint of heart—it’s challenging, yet incredibly rewarding. With every season, there are ebbs, flows, and industry trends, and staying ahead requires adaptability and resilience.
At the core of my business model is my faith—without it, I wouldn’t have been able to sustain this journey. I’ve been in the photography industry for almost 20 years, with the last eight as a full-time entrepreneur. The secret to my longevity? Prayer and accountability. Seriously! These two pillars guide my decisions, keep me grounded, and help me navigate challenges with wisdom and confidence.
My values remain unchanged: I strive to operate with excellence and integrity in everything I do. In an industry where clients have many options, these principles set me apart and have carried me through nearly two decades of business.
