We had the good fortune of connecting with Tany B and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tany, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was simple yet powerful: “Why not create a business doing what I love?” I have always been passionate about consulting people and marketing, and I saw an opportunity to channel that passion into something impactful. This led me to create not just one, but two ventures: Tany Media and TGR Consulting Group.

For me, starting these businesses was about taking a leap of faith and trusting in my abilities. I knew that if I waited for the “perfect time” or overthought every detail, I might never take the first step. My mindset was clear: don’t wait—just do it. I firmly believe that when you take action, things begin to align, and opportunities start presenting themselves.

In addition to my businesses, I also started a YouTube channel called Tany B., which has been a long-time passion of mine. Through this platform, I get to create content and connect with people in a way that truly brings me joy. Content creation is an extension of my passion for marketing and consulting—it’s another avenue to share my ideas, inspire others, and build a community around doing what I love.

With TGR Consulting Group, I focus on helping businesses and individuals navigate challenges and identify opportunities, using my expertise in marketing, strategy, and problem-solving. While I’m still in the process of figuring out and refining my business models, I am confident that success will follow because I am persistent, passionate, and committed to growth.

Every step I take is a learning experience. Whether it’s developing my service offerings, building client relationships, or enhancing my skills, I trust the process and remain optimistic that all the pieces will fall into place. Starting these businesses and my YouTube channel wasn’t just about creating income—it was about building something meaningful that reflects who I am, what I value, and what I love doing.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’d love to share more about my work and journey. I have experience in so many professions, but the one I am focusing on now is my YouTube channel, Tany B., and my marketing background. These two areas are deeply connected to my passion for creativity, strategy, and making an impact.

What sets me apart is my ability to combine strategic thinking with a creative edge. Whether I’m crafting engaging marketing campaigns or creating content for my YouTube channel, my goal is to inspire and connect with people in a meaningful way. I love using my platform and expertise to help others see the value in their ideas, products, or services.

Getting to where I am today professionally has been a journey filled with challenges, growth, and valuable lessons. It wasn’t easy, but every obstacle shaped me into who I am now. One of the biggest hurdles I faced was learning how to balance pursuing my dreams while managing responsibilities and staying focused on my goals. I overcame these challenges by staying consistent, leaning on my support system, and always being open to learning and adapting.

I’m most proud of taking risks and stepping outside of my comfort zone to pursue what I truly love. My YouTube channel is a testament to that—it’s a space where I can fully express myself and share my passions with others. Starting and running my marketing ventures, like TGR Consulting Group, has also been a rewarding challenge, teaching me resilience, adaptability, and the value of building relationships.

Some of the biggest lessons I’ve learned along the way include the importance of just starting, even when things aren’t perfect, and trusting the process. I’ve learned that success isn’t linear and that every small step forward matters.

What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that everything I do comes from a place of passion and authenticity. Whether it’s through my YouTube content, marketing work, or consulting, my mission is to help others achieve their goals while doing what they love. My story is about creating opportunities, embracing challenges, and building a legacy that reflects who I truly am.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting Atlanta for a week, I’d make sure they had the best time ever—because, in my view, Atlanta is the best place in America! Here’s the perfect week-long itinerary I’d plan for them:

This itinerary is all about balancing food, culture, and fun. Atlanta has so much to offer, and every experience on this list would leave my friend wanting to come back for more!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely! My shoutout goes to my daughter and my mother. They are my greatest sources of inspiration and motivation, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without their love and support.

To my daughter: Knowing that I am creating something meaningful, doing what I love, and building a legacy that she gets to witness firsthand fills me with pride. Seeing her watch me pursue my passions with determination and joy reminds me every day why I started this journey. I want her to grow up knowing the value of hard work, resilience, and the importance of chasing her dreams. She keeps me grounded while also pushing me to aim higher, and everything I do is not just for myself but also for her—to set an example that she can succeed by being authentic and following her passions.

To my mother: She has always been my rock, my biggest cheerleader, and a constant source of encouragement. Her strength and unwavering belief in me have shaped who I am today. She’s been there to guide me, lift me up during challenging times, and celebrate my victories, no matter how big or small. Her love and sacrifices have given me the foundation to dream big and pursue my goals with confidence.

Both my daughter and my mother deserve all the recognition for being the heart of my story and my “why” in everything I do. I’m endlessly grateful for their support and the role they play in my journey.
