We had the good fortune of connecting with Tanisha Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tanisha, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Support, support, support! It’s the key factor that keeps me going and helps me grow. You know the saying, “You get back what you put in.” Well, I truly believe that. I love to connect and get personal with my followers because it makes a huge difference. When I show up for others, they show up for me. Before, I used to host events every month, but then I decided to spread them out a bit more. This gave me more time and energy to show up for others and be more social. I’ve met so many amazing people this way! On social media, I’m always supporting anything that resonates with me or my following. Even a simple “Like, Comment, or Share” can make someone’s day. And you never know, they might return the favor! So, keep showing up and supporting others. It pays off in the end!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My background is in Sales & Marketing and all my previous positions involved meeting new prospects and closing deals. Sure, sending an email proposal is easy but face-to-face interactions are a whole different ball game. You’re not just selling a product, you’re selling yourself too! The first impression is everything and the presenter can make or break the deal. My professional tactics have not only helped me in my career but also in my personal and business relationships. I’m easy-going, approachable, and can easily identify different personality types. I modify my approach and selling techniques accordingly. I listen attentively to my client’s needs and make sure they’re satisfied with my presentation.
These are the things that help my brand shine. Of course, my brand isn’t for everyone and that’s okay. My techniques allow me to focus on those who would appreciate and benefit from what I have to offer.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my friends were planning a visit, I’d suggest they hang tight for a bit. Being a wife, mother, and entrepreneur can sometimes be a handful, and I’d offer them three days instead of a whole week (you know how it is lol). But those three days will be packed with fun things to do! First on the agenda would be to book a cozy AirBNB for them, where they’ll be greeted with a bottle of wine and a basket full of special treats. And of course, we’ll be exploring all the amazing food spots in Atlanta. From new trendy places to hidden little joints, we’ll be eating our way through the city.
Some of the must-visit places we’d hit up are La Parrilla in Forest Park for the best tacos and elotes in town; Starr Lounge in Douglasville for some of the freshest fish and the most amazing salmon plate you’ll ever have; and Hattie Marie’s BBQ in College Park, where you’ll get to feast on the Big Willies Beef Dino bone (need I say more?).

During the day, we can explore the city with some exciting activities like biking on the belt line, visiting selfie museums, or even attending a vibrant day party! I’m not a huge fan of clubs, but I’d love to attend a networking event or gather with friends at a cozy social lounge. Atlanta offers an array of cool places to hang out, so let’s see what vibes we’re feeling on that particular day!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

I couldn’t sign off without shouting out two amazing folks in my business circle. Let me introduce you to Vee Blooming, the mastermind behind Cook Up Creationz. Her special event decor company is the gift that keeps on giving – she handcrafts unique setups that set the perfect vibe for any occasion. And then we have Kindre White of Smoke on Da Go. Her shisha is top-notch! Whenever I have events, she brings a yummy hookah bar that my guests can’t get enough of. These two women are true professionals dedicated to their craft and customer satisfaction. They always deliver.

Last, I really want to give a shoutout to my wonderful husband. He’s truly my biggest fan and supporter, and his unwavering encouragement is what helps me thrive with my brand. Whether it’s the good times or the tough times, he’s always by my side cheering me on. Love you to the moon and back, babe!
