We had the good fortune of connecting with Tanesha Robbins and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tanesha, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
As a parent, I’ve reflected on the experiences I had growing up and consider how to ensure that the decisions and practices I show my children are influenced by my childhood. The foundation that was laid out to me, the beliefs, the values, the attitude, and the parenting practices were all factors for me as a parent to know what to do and not to do when raising my children.
My meaning behind the reactions to my children were all about my upbringing. I knew that I wanted to be intentional with my parenting so that I could have high achievement children who are disciplined and diligent even though it wasn’t the same for me as a child.
More-so, the most important thing I’ve ever done as a parent is to always, always give my time and love. Children always do better in school and life when their parents are supportive, affectionate, caring, and active in their lives.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Optimum Limitless Services is a freight brokerage that offer transportation arrangement for shippers to get their precious cargo from point A to Z with the assistance of a carrier. What sets me apart from others is my ability to tune out being known as the popular one. I don’t do what I do for recognition, I do what I do for other businesses to have sufficient results and profitable success. I have a high belief in being valuable and ethical and I attract customers that appreciates my integrity. I’ve never tried to mimic other businesses; I strive to be as authentic as possible by trusting my very own process and utilizing the knowledge and experience I have gained over the years. I knew I always wanted to be a business owner because I dreaded working for someone else and letting them dictate my livelihood and daily schedule.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Georgia is continuously growing and new spots are popping up constantly so there is always fun stuff to do. The Works in Upper Westside Atlanta is a huge new development that offers both retail and dining. It has so much character, the retail spaces are so cute and the food is all so comforting. Definitely will start out there, maybe two days as it has a lot to offer. Considering I have children all of my visitors most likely do to so depending on the weather we may pick a day to hang out at six flags, white water, the sugar factory, Georgia aquarium or Atlanta Zoo.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First, I would like to show my appreciation to my mother and sister. My mother has pushed me and my siblings to always think outside the box, she never settled and always considered what was best for us to be successful in life. Whether that was relocating to another state, sending us off during the summer to different environments or making us do things that we wasn’t always comfortable doing. Also, my sister played a major role in my life. She’s 8 years older than my brother, 10 years older than me and 12 years older than our younger brother, so she was like a second mom to us, everything my mother couldn’t do she did it to the best of her ability. She always cared about our well being even before her own. These two women are the reason today why I am selfless, caring, and determined to continue to succeed in life. They have prayed for me harder than anyone I know.
Secondly, My children is the motivational force behind my ambition and drive to be financially, physically, mentally and motherly healthy. I was blessed with my first child at the age of 18 and even though it was challenging for me, I knew not to have another one until I was in a better situation and I knew enough to see it as an opportunity of learning an important life lesson sooner than later. Now, my first born will be graduating high school this year (C/O 22) with honors and both academic and athletic scholarships. I had my second born years later at 28. I’ve simply learned what life is all about while also teaching my children all about life.
Next, I would like to thank my husband who has always been supportive of my decisions, encouraged me to do more in life and accepted me for who I am. He exposed me to things that I was not accustomed to doing growing up. Thanks to that, I have always been more adventurous, open and eager to learn new things.
Then, I would like to thank my business partner, Shontia Marshall. She’s always been there to encourage me both personally and professionally. She’s always keep me in line, helps me stay focused and always give her honest opinion. We have established a relationship of telling each other not what we want to hear but what we need to hear. I am so grateful for her to be in my life, she’s not just a business partner, she’s a close friend.
I’ve gained so much valuable experience & knowledge from a previous manager during my accounting career that I can’t not acknowledge her. Thank you Renee (York) Pullin for your words of encouragement, honest feedback and discipline you’ve showed me. You are a great mentor, you’ve seen my potential, you were always honest, and I will always hold your advisement near and dear to me.
Lastly, I would like to thank VoyageATL for the opportunity of acknowledgement and all the other people in my life that continue to support and encourage me on a personal and professional level.
