We had the good fortune of connecting with Tanashia Durant and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tanashia, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My business was birthed out of pain. Everyone knows that a woman’s wedding day is something that she dreams of her entire life. We plan the intricate details out for years and just hope that a handsome King comes and helps us make it a reality. I married my husband on 10-10-10. PERFECT right? NOT!!! Unfortunately, my wedding day was A DISASTER. I was depressed and embarrassed for months after! My dream day didn’t go as planned because of a lack of proper systems and staff in place. Humiliation, disappointment, and heartbreak triggered the idea of Behind the Dream. It was a feeling that I was determined to make sure no DREAMER ever feels! My company now assists visionaries, CEOs, and artists in FLAWLESSLY navigating dreams to reality!

What sets you apart from others?
My motto is “Called to Serve…the money is a bonus.” The heart behind our service is the difference between Behind the Dream and others. Our clients know that they can leave all the major and minor details of their project/event to us, and they will be managed with care. This gives them more time to create. Ultimately, leaving them feeling stress-free, accomplished, invigorated, and encouraged.

What you are most proud of or excited about?
I am most proud that my children get to see their mom work diligently to inspire change in the world. Consequently, my success breeds success. I know that my sons will do great and powerful things on Earth. That brings me extraordinary joy.

How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges?

I am here because of failure. It has propelled me to this place in business today. I have lost so much in life. Those setbacks have hurt me mentally, emotionally, financially, and spiritually. I am still paying for a few of my poor decisions. Those losses became life lessons, and they were the driving force behind my current success.

It was not easy at all, but worth it. I was determined to learn something beneficial from every failure. Aaliyah said, “If at first you don’t succeed then dust yourself off and try again.” I kept trying until I got it right. You overcome challenges by not giving up! You will cry, you will feel defeated sometimes, but you MUST FIGHT! Be intentional about your dreams and your success.

What are the lessons you have learned along the way?
– Discover your purpose and how to develop that into a stream of income
– Time management is key to your success
– Always remember your “WHY”
– I am NOTHING without the love and support of my family

What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I am always looking for innovative ways to serve.
Purpose awaits…How can I help?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I couldn’t do any of this without the affection and support of my family. I am for grateful the example of love and servitude that my parents Rev, Timothy N. Jebucitwa, and Lady Phyllis, have instilled in my amazing siblings and me.

I would also like to shout out my husband, Sharod, and sons, Jazz, and Israel. Couldn’t make it without you.
