We had the good fortune of connecting with Tan Henry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tan, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Balance has always been such a important factor in my life. Especially with work, family, love and every day living! Becoming a full time realtor really put balance in a great perspective for me. Working for yourself gives you freedom but can also be overwhelming. You have to find balance in all things!

Balance is about triaging things based on necessity and importance. Giving time and energy to those things that are required not over doing things. Striking a perfect balance requires one to be mindful of giving those I love attention and space to be the best versions of themselves and giving myself the time and space to be the best version of myself.

What sets me apart is I’ve been told I am relatable, transparent yet professional, and always available for my clients.

I am are most proud & excited when I have helped a 1st time home owner accomplish their dream.

I got to where I am today professionally because of my upbringing and education. But collegiate burnout working a 8-5 as a college registrar made me take a leap of faith to become a full time Realtor.

No it wasn’t easy working, taking classes, being a wife, and mother, but with encouragement from my family and a few close friends and my faith, I persevered.

The only lesson I have learned is to believe in my ability to accomplish anything I put my mind to and get out of my own way.

I want the world to know, what you see is what you get! A smile, red lipstick most days and a hardworking woman dedicated to her profession. I take it very serious on educating my clients of home buying and being by their side along the way. I’m a Realtor with heart.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well my best friend lives in the city so she’s down for a good brunch spot at any given moment! She’s a great cook as well. But since Covid hit, we mostly do girl time inside with good food and drinks. But If they serve mimosas, we’re there! Grille 29 use to be a favorite of ours, they’re no longer open so we just go with the flow… Birmingham has so many hidden jewels so depending on the day and weather, just Go!!! Whatever comes to our mind and mood.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Of course I owe everything to God! But my husband who’s my business partner and my two daughters motivate me daily to be great! My family is the core of my success! My parents and family support me big time my brokerage is full of winners and want to see me win in everything. Lastly my best friend/sister Rashada Manuel keeps me on my toes and supports me through everything I do even if I was selling lemonade in my front yard!
