We had the good fortune of connecting with Tamiyah Garrett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tamiyah, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is that I take advantage of every opportunity that is offered to me. I make it my business to leave an impeccable impression on the company or brand I am working with. I network as much as possible to ensure I am considered for future collaborations.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from other models is the amount of creativity that I bring to the table. Majority of the content that I shoot are concepts that I have curated. It only takes one letter, picture or even sentence to spark up an intriguing idea. I am proud to say that I am not only the model but also the creative director of my career. Consistency has been one major key to my success. It wasn’t easy getting to where I am today and I can honestly say I still have a lot of goals to accomplish. I’ve learned to not allow life’s obstacles to stop me from what God has in store for me.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is honestly a broad question because there is a lot to do in Atlanta. I can tell you that our week would consist of vibing at a a nice AirBnB, hosting a kickback, turning up at Club Eleven FortyFive, eating and drinking at the Sugar Factory and engaging in trendy lounges like BQE. I am almost certain a shopping spree would be a must as well.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to God for giving me the means to start and maintain a career as a model. Shoutout to @illusionsoflight for helping me bring all my concepts to life. Shoutout to my mom, @itstybuggy and @_blaccmileyy for always encouraging me. Shoutout to @ebby.hayz for being there to save me when I’m having last minute hair, props or outfit defects.
