We had the good fortune of connecting with Tamara Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tamara, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
My end goal is to basically be an impact and educator in the beauty world. I want people to embrace who they are inside and out and be proud of themselves and to understand no one is perfect, although often it’s normal to feel there is always room for improvement. I want to make everyone feel good about themselves through skincare. I call it “Spoiling your skin esteem”. Of course, if you want a good healthy boost to your skin, come visit Three14Esthetics for a discounted service. I always love servicing new clients and making them feel more confident when taking on the city, just  mention this article when you book and I’ll make sure you’re good to go!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve always been a fan of all things beauty but I never tried to pursue it, along with my interest in beauty I’ve always been into science and healthcare I’m currently a medical assistant with an associates degree in health science, and I have been for the last 7 years and I just decided one day I want to push forward when it comes to the beauty world and just eventually connect the two worlds of beauty and healthcare. I’ve learned that as you get older you change from your appearance to your health and they all go together in some way. You basically have to take care of yourself which is a no brainer and the results of your actions show from the inside of your body out. It has not been an over night success transitioning from one career to the other and I know it’s not going to be easy connecting the two but I have been staying positive with the support that I have been receiving. I’m definitely excited for what is to come as I build my clientele and continue to further my education and meeting more people in the beauty business. I keep in mind that this has been a dream of mine since I was very young and I’ll never get there If I stall, take breaks, or doubt myself. Confidence will take you very far I have learned.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In the city of Nashville I would definitely take them downtown of course like The Gulch for example I love trying new restaurants and bars. Restaurants like Char or Magginanos. L& L market on Charlotte Ave is also a nice place to go hang out, it has multiple bars and lounges in a shopping lot to try out. If I were to go out for drinks and games I would go to Up Down which is located in East Nashville which is constantly growing. I also love to shop I don’t know anyone who don’t I go to Green Hills more than I should. Another good place to go which is a stamp in Nashville is Princes Hot Chicken located now in Antioch and also a location on 5th and Broadway

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shelethia Tre’Nae is a friend of mine with her own clothing line called Untamed Vanity, she is one of the main reasons I started my business just being motivated watching her work so hard and not letting any obstacles stop her. She has helped me a lot along the way with ideas, constructive criticism, encouraging words and ample support.
