Meet Tamal Press Forchion | Film Director/Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tamal Forchion and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tamal, how do you think about risk?
The incredible excitement (fear for some) of the unknown has undoubtedly become the pivotal driving factor of motivation for me throughout life. It is one of the main reasons I’ve decided to move to Atlanta. Yet, with those risk, you allow yourself to tap into a different part of you, extracting assets from within that might of remained unrevealed had I not taken such drastic leaps, where some would have remained comfortable. Sometimes those risk may appear as a hindrance or set back at first, but it’s true purpose always reveals itself as you walk in faith.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’d like to consider myself a true JOAT (jack of all trades). I’m a videographer/director, photographer, artist, writer. All off which compliment each other as each arena crosses paths constantly within business. I created Tr3ndal Worldwide, a Multi-Media Production company that specializes in growing the identity of brands within multiple genres from music, fashion, real estate, culinary, and business. I can truly say it has been a journey til this date. I started studying and practicing film as a result of leaving my basketball career behind after my last year in Germany. Since I have always been a creative at heart, it wasn’t a bad transition emotionally but a lot of work and constant learning and re-inventing of self til today as the world and market constantly changes. I was greatful to see a lot of the world in my athletic years but have also with film. There has been a multitude of great talents and companies I’ve had the opportunity to work and travel with because of this. Within the last year I’ve packed up from New Jersey to Atlanta to expand my horizons and work with more like minded individuals while growing my brand and business. I want people to know that we at Tr3ndal embody the projects that we work on as if it is our brand and want to bring out of the true vision of creatives and businesses for the world to see.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I absolutely love this city for that reason. Never a dull moment. I almost always take my friends and family to Piedmont Park to get a feel of downtown and the chill vibes this city has to offer. Just visually it’s great with the city backdrop. Now there are a list of places I love to eat in this city but if you are here for a short weekend my two go too spots are Bar Taco and JR Crickets for lemon pepper wings. It’s a must if you are coming from up north lol. A lot of my friends are creatives as well so Krog street tunnel is always a great place to go and create content etc. The list goes on of fav places to go but, those are for sure some,I regularly pass.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate this article to my siblings, Reginald Irby, Tionna Forchion, and Michael Fidel. I take a piece from there life book daily. My sister Tionna has fought to be a great mother and survivor of Chrohns Disease while bringing awareness to the community all while raising to growing boys. My brother Reggie has shown me how setting small goals all add up in the bigger picture as shown in his fitness journey in body building and his business module with Iron Hippii. I’ve watched Michael Fidel take a notebook of drawings and turn it into a custom clothing line from a vision that nobody believed him doing when he first spoke upon it. All of us grew up together in the same household and they are all a piece of me.
