We had the good fortune of connecting with Talitha Huddleston and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Talitha, how do you think about risk?
I believe that risk taking is an absolute necessary part of being an entrepreneur. It plays a huge role in my life because if you never try it, you will never know if you would have succeeded. Most successful business owners take risks and never look back. It is a part of growing and learning. If you are always afraid you will never find success because you are always standing in your own way. Fear is an obstacle that we all need to overcome. My ancestors were not afraid of taking risks and thankfully they did. I would not not be free today had they not. So I like to take risks. It always has the possibility of yielding great reward.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a Professional Voice Over Actress and what sets me apart from others is my unique tone and color of my voice. It is deep, sultry, and soulful. It isn’t as easy as everyone thinks because there is a lot of thinking that goes on behind the scenes to deliver the script in a certain way. You have to be able to quickly get into the character that the client wants and dazzle them until their shoes come off! Professional coaching goes a long way in this industry and always keeping abreast of trends helps to keep me on my toes. On this journey I have learned things from the oddest places. Believe it or not my previous jobs of working in a call center helps me voice characters as well. Sometimes I would create a different character on calls just to practice tone and inflection. One day I would sound corporate, the next country, valley girl etc. It helps to remain creative and sharp in this line of work. I would love for the world to know that my brand is fun, fresh, sultry, and professional. I don’t like to half way do things and I am always full steam ahead. If I am going to half way do something then I would rather not do it at all.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am a huge foodie so eating good often is a part of life! I would take them to some of the best restaurants in the city. I love international cuisine so a trip down Buford highway is great for all the real international flavors. I adore authentic Mexican, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Indian food. There are also some great local farmers markets that we would visit. I enjoy cooking so we would definitely have to sign up for a cooking class. A day at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens is a must for any visitor to Atlanta because of its serenity and beauty, so a stroll through those gardens and an impromptu photo shoot would be perfect. I also like to work out so I would take them to a pole dance or kickboxing class. Both are super fun and a great way to work off all that food!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to thank my parents. They always taught me to be myself. My mother always taught me to go after what I want and not to be afraid. My father always taught me to go against the grain. Together they instilled values that will last throughout my lifetime and I will teach them to my children. I would also like to thank my friends for always being supportive. They may not have always understood my decisions but they always root for me regardless!
