We had the good fortune of connecting with Takosha Swan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Takosha, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risks have made my dreams come true. The business life can become an amazing experience by looking at risks and planning for them. Risks are scary and in the beginning stages, seem to be impossible, that is why we call them risks. However, it’s really great to have the ability to see a risk and make it possible and less risky through knowledge and planning.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Business Women Consulting includes something different in our business strategy. We believe that you can’t separate a person’s personal life from their business. Their business develops from their life activities and it continues to develop, just like our personal lives should be developing. However, these two are not be coupled but we couple them.

All of my clients receive strategic business consulting and strategic life consulting. When my clients have a personal blockage in life that is holding them back from meeting their business goals, we deal with it, solve it and continue to move their business forward.

I learned this from my own personal experience. I know what my clients need to be successful and I will not hold back from giving them what they need to have not just a successful business, but a successful life!

There are many challenges that we will encounter. If there is someone in our lives that has already been there and knows the path, it makes life and business much more enjoyable as it should be. I not only study business but I intentionally study life. There is an answer to the fear and frustration and we can enjoy this ride!

I want people to know that we Business Women Consulting breaks business barriers and we break life barriers. We have strategies that are guaranteed to work in your life if you are ready to what it takes to fulfill the desires that are in your heart. Business Women Consulting is answer to the chaos and madness, we put things in order and bring clarity to your path to success.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My office is in the lovely downtown Conyers. There is so much authenticity, beauty and history all me. You may see a production filming a movie in the historical alley in front of my office or an entrepreneur having a photoshoot for their projects. There is a Thai restaurant, Mexican restaurant, sandwich shop and southern food all within walking distance from my office.

The Thai restaurant is my favorite place to chat and eat. On a beautiful sunny day, we can sit outside on the wooden wrap around porch. The restaurant was a big house, so it feels very comfortable and the lobster roll is amazing!

Across the street there is a lovely Pavillion where local events are commonly held. In the winter months, we even have an ice skating rink for family fun! If it’s summer there is a local ice cream shop around the corner but my family eats ice cream all year around.

A lot fun is created in Conyers. I sing as well and I love live jazz, so I like to patronize a local spot that provides live musical entertainment throughout the week. I have a Christmas album and a relaxing jazz album of original music and you may catch me performing locally or somewhere in Georgia. In 2019, I was appointed by the governor to be a board member of the State Veteran’s Service Board. I am currently the Vice-chairwoman and it is an honor. For many years and even now I have performed the National Anthem for Servicemembers on countless occasions.

In 2020, I wrote another Anthem, “The Veteran Anthem!” It accompanies The National Anthem by saluting the Servicemembers and Veterans thar uphold the U.S flag. I travel and perform The Veteran Anthem to honor and encourage our military and Veteran communities into living a beautiful Life after the military in awareness of mental health. I perform this live with the Alpharetta Symphony Orchestra Orchestra. The Veteran Anthem video can be found on YouTube.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Everything and Everyone plays a part in bringing inspiration into my life to be who I am today. When it comes to business and entrepreneurship, watching my parents have their own businesses played a big role without my even knowing. As children we do not know much, so we observe, with that, I always knew that I had the option to work for someone else or to enjoy entrepreneurship.

My first job away from home was the military. I joined the Army at the age of 17 and I left for basic training at the age of 18. The military was a wonderful foundation for me and it definitely played a part in helping me see which option I wanted to live in.

When I transitioned from the military, I has job lined up to work with the military as a civilian. However, due to Iraqi Freedom war that position dissolved before I even began. After my disappointment, I had to take a look at what I could do without a job. I earned money for college while I was in the military, so that would be my next step, a degree in business. By the way, the military also helped me to see that, I didn’t really want anyone telling me how to live my life everyday.
