We had the good fortune of connecting with Taishma Council and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taishma, how do you define success?
“Over here we measure success by how many people successful next to you. Here we say you broke if everybody is broke except for you. Boss!”, this is my favorite quote from The Carter’s “Everything Is Love” album. At Virtual Goals Assistant Agency LLC, we don’t measure success by monetary value. We measure success by the growth of our clients who we refer to as our Goal Achievers. We want to be sure they are meeting their quarterly goals; such as exposure, expanding their network, attending workshops, and learning more about how to set their business up to succeed. If our Goal Achievers have full confidence in The Dream Team, success will be inevitable. A strong team with the freedom to express their ideas and creativity is a valuable resource for our Goal Achieves, and we are all successful when we grow together as a community.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
VGAA LLC is a virtual assistant (VA) agency that assists small businesses with admin-related tasks; such as project management, social media management, scheduling, email management, and more. VGAA LLC is beneficial to small businesses/non-profits because we are more cost-efficient than highering full-time staff, we work remotely and we all have experience.  My passion for growing small businesses sets VGAA LLC apart from any other VA agency. We have an OBM (Online Business Manager) plus a dedicated VA for each of our Goal Achievers. I saw the need for a service business that produced professional admin support for other businesses, an agency that was dedicated to giving back to our community, and a culture that was inspirational to others. We manage, execute, and also seek resources that allow business owners to operate, collaborate, network, and scale. I’m most proud when I’ve discovered new resources that help our Goal Achievers excel in their market. I’ve recognized that creating systems and processes for efficiency is my superpower. This gift has allowed me to recruit The Dream Team and educate them on how to use systems to scale other small businesses.  I encourage our team to be creative in their work as each of our Goal Achiever’s needs is different. The freedom of creativity allows them to maintain and build our Goal Achiever’s branding image in a cohesive and positive manner.  The more I expand The Dream Team the more impact VGAA LLC will have on small businesses.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My friends and I enjoy professional workshops, so we would attend 2-3 events centered around networking and business concepts. We would have lunch at Winston’s Grille which is a known restaurant for business lunches. We would meet with community outreach centers such as S.A.S.S in our spare time because it is so important for me to give back. The evening could lead us to outdoor vendor markets such as Moore Square Market, where we can support local businesses and immerse ourselves in the city culture. Finally, we would end up at a rooftop bar to reflect and plan for the upcoming weeks. On other days we would go to the azalea gardens or a luxury spa because business owners and working moms need to be spoiled, too! Overall, a balanced week with networking, social activities, and jazz music would be ideal to show off the city!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout my husband, Saemetruis “Mickey” Council for understanding, supporting, and encouraging me during my entrepreneurship journey. Thank you to my mother, Donna Owens, for always showing up when she can see that I’m extremely exhausted and need a break, Jacinta Parris who is the best VA mentor, Atiba Desouza, owner of Traffic Keys, who has planted seeds in VGAA LLC that has allowed me to provide resources for developing businesses. Lastly, I appreciate The Dream Team for making my job easy and all of our Goal Achievers who trust their business with VGAA LLC.
