We had the good fortune of connecting with Tai Savage and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tai, what do you want people to remember about you?
I want to be remembered as the woman who went after everything she wanted while inspiring others, creating opportunities, and giving bomb ass looks. The legacy I’m building is for the Savage family. Savage is defined as fierce and powerful with no regard for the opinion of others. That is the legacy I will leave for my family.

What should our readers know about your business?
Ok so as a serial entrepreneur, I’m literally obsessed with doing the most. LOL. I have 3 businesses and one in the works. I am a Fashion designer. a brand strategist, and a yoga instructor. Though these are all very different businesses, I believe they all work together simultaneously to aid me in being the best CEO I can be.

I started off with learning the ends and outs of branding because this is major key to the success of any business. However, fashion has always been my passion. So shortly after starting my branding agency, Savage Relations, I decided to use my skills and knowledge in branding to launch my fashion brand, Viva La Savage.

Viva La Savage is by far what I am most proud. Running this business is everything but easy, but the joy I feel inside when I see my clients in pieces I handmade makes it all worth it. After about 6 months of running Viva La Savage by myself I realized it was draining me both mentally and physically.

Then came Yoga…..I’ve casually practiced yoga for fun since college, however I got to the point where I knew I needed something to calm my mind and balance my emotions daily. I wish I could say I came up with a plan to become a yoga instructor, but I kid you not it literally came to me. I was blessed with a scholarship opportunity and literally knew it was a sign that Yoga was the missing piece to my hectic lifestyle. After an extensive 4 month yoga journey, I achieved a level of healing I didn’t know existed, mastered the art of being present in every moment, became a certified yoga instructor and started Savage Yoga. Savage Yoga will be launching Summer 2021 and I am soooo excited. My yoga journey truly changed my perspective and brought me to my true purpose, aka the business I have in the works. (its a secret but I’m sure I’ll come back and share it with you all soon).

With all that being said, I would say my faith combined with my strategic approach to being a business owner is what sets me apart from others. I truly believe everything is always happening for me and when I feel its time to pause, adjust, or switch lanes I don’t hesitate to do so. Becoming a Yoga instructor is one of the best things that could have happened for Viva La Savage because I was truly on the path to burn out. I now know that my life is divinely orchestrated and I don’t have to stress the timing of anything because from my experience EVERYTHING ALWAYS HAPPENS WHEN IT’S SUPPOSED TO. With a renewed mind, I am now able to run Viva La Savage with ease. Viva La Savage will be dropping a new collection soon and the time, patience, and creativity I am now able to put into my brand is unmatched. And to think all it took was a little yoga to bring my creative brain back to life after months of being extremely overworked.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned from it all is you cannot do it all at once. Creating a lifestyle and a schedule that enabled me to focus on one business at a time is the best thing I could have done for myself. As far as overcoming challenges…. pausing, being still and trusting God to lead me in the right direction has been a game changer.

To the world, I want you all to know this is only the beginning for the Savage legacy. I am truly going to change the world with my latest venture. Stay tuned 😉

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As far as places to go I’m very big on vibes, so I would be taking my friend to do very relaxing things like

Nature trails: Roswell Mill, Cascade nature preserve

Spa: Treat your feet, Spa land, The Four Seasons Spa (if I really really like them lol)

Yoga: Yonder Yoga (the best hot yoga class in Atlanta)

Starlight Drive In Movie: (my absolute fav date…the vibe here is so nostalgic)

As far as food, I would take them to

Flying Biscuit (Best grits ever)

Another Broken egg

Kelz Kitchen (for the culture…I honestly loveee it here)

Divan (amazing vibes and great food)

Atlanta Fish market (BEST lobster)

Bar Taco

Nakato (for the sitting on pillows vs chair experience)

With the climate of the world right now we probably wouldn’t be doing much going out, but if we did we would go

Cheetah lounge/ strip club

Opium

Elleven45

Gold Room

Blue Flame (because duhhhh)

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
All praise to the most high. Without God I would not be the woman I am today. I’ve learned over time that if you are not whole within nothing you plant will grow. Our relationship has brought me the most support, mentorship, love, and encouragement I have ever experienced. Alignment is my secret weapon when it comes to successfully running my businesses by myself. Some days when I don’t feel like doing a thing, God reminds me who’s I am and that alone is enough to make me get up and go hard for my legacy everyday. God is truly the best business partner anyone could have.
