We had the good fortune of connecting with Tai Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tai, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My initial thought process behind opening my business was how can I make this stand out amongst thousands of other businesses in the same industry

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The thing that I’m mostly excited about I was able to produce my hair care Company, I was able to publish my first book titled bounce back, and I also A cranial prosthesis specialist (medical wig maker) and proud of is my go get it attitude about business. Because I have that attitude about business it allowed me to bounce back from situation as it was designed to hold me back in business and if I would have allowed that I would not be where I am today. I would have given up on my business a long time ago. No it was not easy getting to the point where I am today. And I say that because for years ago I overcame a stroke due to pregnancy and a brain tumor. Which led me to undergo two brain surgeries in a year. And I was able to bounce back from there and transition from struggle to success in my businesses. I overcame those challenges because I refuse to give up in through adversity. It came with a major change in my mindset to be able to keep pushing and not give up although I wanted to give up several days. The lessons that I’ve learned along the way is just to never give up and keep pushing because you never know what may come out of just keep being consistent and persistent. What I would like the world to know about me and my brand story is that I am resilient and that no matter what I go through I will always bounce back from it. And also whatever challenges I have in my business I will always bounce back from that also.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well far as I will show my good friend of time by getting massages at the W hotel then going to one of my favorite spots called Bar Vegan for drinks and food. Although I haven’t been yet but there is another favorite spot that I would love to go to called The Botanical Gardens, and also a winery down at the Château élan. That would be the perfect girlfriend trip in the ATL lol.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My business coach Joi Mebane and my hair Mentor Tamika Gibson for helping me take my business to the next level.
